🚩🚩 1. Union Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe Expresses Words of Encouragement to People’s Revolution Fighters

It has been reported that Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, Union Minister for Education and Health of the National Unity Government (NUG), personally offered words of encouragement to the People’s Revolution fighters.

Dr. Zaw Wai Soe stated:

“To Mai Mai Seng and Jet San Htun: I respect you, I am proud of you, and I thank you. Together with all the revolution fighters, we will continue to fight until we achieve victory.”

Regarding the visit, singer Mai Mai Seng remarked:

“At first, we went there with the intention of encouraging the fighters. But after listening to the Minister’s steadfast stance, his principles, and his inspiring words, and then witnessing with our own eyes the resilience and perseverance of the fighters—enduring hardships and struggles with determination—we ourselves drew strength from them in return.

Even for people like us, who are still relatively young, the journey in this season was extremely exhausting. So for the Minister himself to come all the way here—it is hard to describe how significant and impactful that was, both for us and for the fighters. Seeing it directly, it was truly a fulfilling and encouraging experience for all of us.”

🚩🚩 2. Resistance Forces Capture Joint Military–Pyithu Sit Base in Mawleik

On August 15, resistance forces seized control of the Htaw Thar base in Mawleik Township, Sagaing Region—a fortified position jointly established by the military junta and Pyu Saw Htee militias. According to members of the resistance, they also obtained weapons, ammunition, and captured soldiers. This was reported by People’s Spring.

This base was the first joint military–Pyu stronghold established inside Mawleik Township. On the afternoon of August 15, resistance forces launched an assault and successfully captured it.

A member of the resistance said:

“This is the first base in Mawleik Township jointly operated by the Pyu militias and the junta’s soldiers. There were around 70 armed soldiers and 150 family members stationed there.”

Photos and video clips released by some PDF units show at least 23 assorted firearms captured, along with a large quantity of ammunition. Many junta soldiers were also taken prisoner.

Following the fall of the base, the junta attempted to send reinforcements, but resistance forces engaged them in ongoing battles up until August 18. In these clashes, junta troops were killed, injured, and some were captured. As a result, the reinforcement column was eventually forced to retreat.

A resistance fighter explained:

“The reinforcement column was hit hard. Even their officers were killed. That’s why they had to withdraw.”

The capture of the Htaw Thar base and subsequent attacks on the reinforcement column were carried out through the joint efforts of multiple resistance groups operating in Mawleik Township.

🚩🚩 3. Joint Forces Led by KNLA Clear Junta’s Ta-Mai-Taung Camp in Pulaw Township

The Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), together with allied joint forces, carried out a clearance operation at the junta’s Ta-Mai-Taung military camp in Pulaw Township, Tanintharyi Region. The KNU District Command (4), Myeik–Dawei District, announced this today.

The junta’s Ta-Mai-Taung camp had been under siege by KNLA-led joint forces for one and a half months. As a result of the prolonged blockade, the junta troops abandoned and fled from the camp on August 16.

On August 17, following the enemy’s withdrawal, Drone Unit of KNDO Battalion (7) conducted aerial surveillance and dropped bombs to assess enemy positions.

Subsequently, the KNLA Special Forces, together with KNDO Battalion (7), Company (5), conducted a clearance operation in the area.

According to reports, KNLA Special Forces and KNDO troops had surrounded the Ta-Mai-Taung base, cutting off its supply and reinforcement routes, and maintained a strict blockade for exactly one and a half months. Unable to withstand the siege, junta forces finally abandoned and fled the camp.

The resistance forces declared that in order to achieve victory in the revolution, they would continue to attack the enemy without hesitation whenever opportunities arise. They also issued a reminder to civilians, warning them not to reside near junta military camps or outposts for their safety.
