At approximately 12:50 AM Myanmar Standard Time on March 28, 2025, a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck 16 kilometers northwest of Sagaing City, followed by multiple aftershocks. Furthermore, in NUG-administered territories, the government has pledged to ensure security, transportation, and the establishment of temporary rescue and medical centers to facilitate relief efforts carried out by UN humanitarian agencies, international organizations, and INGOs.
