๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 1. Interim President Calls for Unified Efforts Among Revolutionary Forces, Including the National Unity Government, to Ensure Full Delivery of Aid to Earthquake Victims

March 29

On March 29, Interim President Duwa Lashi La of the National Unity Government (NUG) delivered a speech titled "Expression of Condolence and Urgent Appeal for Aid to Earthquake Victims." In his address, he emphasized the importance of cooperation among all revolutionary forces to ensure aid reaches those in need without obstruction.

*"At this moment, I earnestly urge all of our allied armed revolutionary groups and civil society organizations to provide necessary assistance to the affected people. We must all contribute our efforts and resources to support our people. I also strongly appeal to our international friends and Myanmar communities abroad to extend immediate assistance to our people.

Furthermore, it is crucial that the aid provided is not merely for public display, political leverage, or self-serving publicity. Instead, we must ensure that it fully and directly reaches those in genuine need. To achieve this, all revolutionary groups, including the NUG, must work together in coordination. I want to make it absolutely clear that we are prepared to collaborate at any time. Our doors are always open,"* said the Interim President.

Additionally, he questioned the actions of the military junta, which continues to carry out airstrikes against civilians even in the midst of a natural disaster, asking, "Will the terrorist military regime not even pause its attacks on people already suffering from disaster?"

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 2. International Aid Must Reach Victims Directly; Communication Efforts Will Be Maximized – Union Minister U Htin Linn Aung

March 29

Union Minister U Htin Linn Aung of the NUG’s Ministry of Communications, Information, and Technology emphasized the critical need for international aid to reach earthquake victims directly. Speaking on March 29, he assured that the ministry would facilitate communication as much as possible to ensure this goal is met.

*"Since international aid is being mobilized for Myanmar’s earthquake disaster, it is of utmost importance that it reaches the actual victims directly. We have seen in the past, during Cyclone Nargis, how aid funneled through the military junta was diverted to the markets instead of reaching those in need. This time, we want to ensure that effective relief efforts directly benefit the affected population.

To achieve this, we will do everything within our capacity to support communication channels with responders on the ground. I also call on Internet Service Providers to collaborate in this effort,"* the Minister stated.

At present, international organizations, including the United Nations, are already working on delivering aid to earthquake victims in Myanmar.
