March 7
In Waingmaw Township, Kachin State, military tensions escalated between junta forces and resistance groups, leading to clashes that resulted in the deaths of two junta soldiers and the seizure of two firearms, according to local sources.
Both sides have been mobilizing troops in significant numbers, and the junta has been abducting young people, KIA's Information Department reported on the night of March 6. The junta has also conducted drone and airstrike attacks on villages in the township, while resistance groups have been occupying civilian homes for shelter.
Due to increased military movements by the junta using two vehicles, KIA engaged in direct combat with them on March 5. Additionally, KIA and allied forces launched a close-range assault on a junta battalion advancing towards Waingmaw from the Laiza side, targeting the junta troops and the Shwe Min People's Militia on March 5, leading to two enemy casualties and the capture of two firearms. The junta forces were forced to retreat, according to a local military source.
Meanwhile, in Tanai, the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) had to abandon one of its bases after an attack by combined junta and militia forces. On the morning of March 6, the junta and Min Zay Thant militia launched an offensive on a KIA stronghold near Du Zup village along the Tanai-Ledo road, forcing KIA troops to withdraw, according to local reports.
The KIA Information Department stated that due to the junta's heavy losses in the Bhamo battle, it has resorted to conducting aerial strikes in relatively peaceful areas of Kachin State while reinforcing its military presence in Myitkyina, Waingmaw, Putao, and Hpakant.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 5. Pyu militias and SAC troops in Sagaing Region successfully attacked by Yinmarbin Pa Ka Pha Mobile Battalion ULF and Revolutionary Forces
March 7
The Yinmarbin Pa Ka Pha Mobile Battalion ULF and Revolutionary Forces successfully launched an attack on Pyu militias and SAC troops in Sagaing Region.
The assault began on February 15 at 11:23 AM in Kin Mun Taw (Pyu) Village, Chaung-U Township, Monywa District, Sagaing Region. About an hour after the battle commenced, reinforcements from the SAC troops stationed at Chaung-U Township Administrative Office, Moe Kaung Monastery, Myapulei, and Kin Mun Livestock Farm provided artillery support, firing 52 rounds of 120mm heavy artillery toward the battlefield.
Later that evening, at 6:17 PM, a skirmish took place when the revolutionary forces encountered a 200-strong reinforcement unit of SAC troops advancing from the Nyaung Hpyu Pin camp and Taupu Pyu Saw Htee village in Monywa Township. The clash lasted approximately 15 minutes as resistance forces attempted to secure their supply routes.
During the operation, the revolutionary forces successfully captured bunkers on the eastern and northern sides of Kin Mun Taw Village, a school, and a monastery. However, at around 8 PM, an SAC reinforcement unit approached Kin Mun Taw Village, prompting the revolutionary forces to withdraw.
By February 16 at 5:42 PM, a 70-strong reinforcement convoy from Monywa-based Na Ma Kha (military intelligence) entered Chaung-U town. The convoy was struck by landmines pre-installed by revolutionary forces, inflicting casualties on SAC troops.
On February 17, at approximately 4:30 PM, another battle erupted as elements of Na Ma Kha, the Nyaung Hpyu Pin camp, and Taupu Pyu militias attempted to re-enter Kin Mun Taw Village. As they retreated, revolutionary forces launched an attack, resulting in 23 enemy casualties. However, the ULF unit lost two fighters, while two allied resistance fighters also perished heroically.
Subsequently, on March 4, 2025, at 3:10 PM, two armored vehicles departing from Monywa attempted to pass through Chaung-U on their way toward Min Mu. Revolutionary joint forces ambushed the convoy on the Monywa-Mandalay road, causing significant damage to SAC troops.
As a result of this attack, revolutionary forces successfully seized two armored vehicles along with the following weapons:
4 MA-1 rifles
1 MA-3 rifle
3 MA-11 rifles
1 G-3 rifle
1 G-1 rifle
1 60mm mortar
1 Lala (unspecified weapon type)
22 assorted ammunition boxes
Since the armored vehicles were rendered inoperable, they were set ablaze and destroyed.
