The Chaung U PDF has reported that an ambush on two armored vehicles of the military council along the Monywa-Mandalay highway in Chaung U Township, Sagaing Region, resulted in the deaths of 17 junta personnel, including a deputy battalion commander.
The attack took place on March 4 at around 3:10 PM when the Revolutionary Joint Forces launched an ambush using mines and gunfire against two junta vehicles heading toward Yinmabin.
During the clash, 17 junta personnel, including a deputy battalion commander, were killed, while one resistance fighter sustained minor injuries.
The resistance forces seized two armored vehicles, four MA-1 rifles, one MA-3 rifle, three MA-11 rifles, one G-3 rifle, one G-1 rifle, one 60mm mortar, one Lala (grenade launcher), and 22 boxes of assorted ammunition. Since the vehicles were no longer operable, they were set on fire and destroyed.
During the attack, junta artillery units from the junta’s stronghold at the Chaung U Agricultural Office and Myapulay base fired 120mm shells 106 times in support, while the junta's Namkhone (NaMaKha) unit conducted two aerial bombardments using engine-mounted paratroopers.
Additionally, the junta troops halted a civilian transport vehicle, forced it to accompany their convoy, and later drove it through the battle zone.
During the junta’s airstrike using engine-mounted paratroopers, three civilians, including a mother and child, were killed, and two others were injured, according to a Chaung U PDF official.
The operation was carried out by the Chaung U Township Pa Ka Pha (CHU PDF), Yinmarbin Township Pa Ka Pha (ULF Battalion), B21 Battalion, Yadanabon, Chindwin Brother, Bandula Defence Force (Buthidaung), Three Brothers Force (Ka Ni), Special Force 11, Immortal Guerrilla Force, and the Sagaing District Drone Team (SDDT).
Additionally, the SRC (Spring Revolution Clinic) provided medical assistance, while aerial reconnaissance support was provided by the ‘Airborne Intelligence Unit.’

In Mandalay Region, junta forces advancing along the Myingyan-Nabuai road and those raiding and torching Tu Rwin Bo village in Myingyan Township were attacked three times within four days, according to an announcement by Bo Mike.
On March 1 and 2, clashes erupted between resistance forces and junta troops moving from Let Htit village toward the Myingyan-Nabuai highway.
During the battles, two junta armored vehicles and a bulletproof vehicle were destroyed, and at least 15 junta personnel were killed, with many others wounded. The situation became severe enough that the junta had to call for air support.
The attacks were carried out by People's Star Battalion (Bo Mike), the Red Dragon Guerrilla Force, Anyar Federal Task Force, MGN Danger Dynamite, and Myingyan Township Pa Ka Pha.
Additionally, on March 4, resistance forces attacked a 50-strong junta unit that was raiding and setting fire to Tu Rwin Bo village in Myingyan Township. The attack inflicted heavy casualties on the junta troops.
This operation was jointly conducted by the People's Star Battalion, MGN Danger Dynamite, Mandalay Regional Battalion, and allied forces.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 3. Eight-day battle with junta forces results in loss of Myingyan Black Tiger’s headquarters; at least 10 junta troops killed

An eight-day-long battle between junta forces and resistance fighters in Yesagyo Township, Magway Region, has led to the loss of the Myingyan Black Tiger (MBT) headquarters, according to an official statement from the MBT battalion.
On February 26, a 200-strong junta column launched an offensive toward the eastern river islands of the Chindwin River. However, MBT and allied forces successfully repelled the attack.
Following this, the junta reinforced its troops with additional forces from Yesagyo and Pakokku towns and retaliated by torching Mingalar Kyan, Myay Sun Taw, and Ywar Thit villages.
The battle in the river island region lasted for eight days. On March 5, at approximately 5:30 AM, the MBT headquarters located north of Zayat Ni village was overrun by junta forces.
The battle lasted around 30 minutes, during which the junta launched two airstrikes. Resistance forces confirmed that at least 10 junta soldiers were killed.

On March 6, at approximately 9:30 AM, resistance forces attacked junta troops stationed at a military checkpoint in Naung Jit Pin village along the Pakokku-Kamma road, according to a statement from the Earthquake People's Defense Force.
During the attack, a man and a woman, believed to be members of the pro-junta Pyu Saw Htee militia, were shot and wounded. Investigations into potential casualties are ongoing.
The operation was jointly carried out by Earthquake People's Defense Force, Thurain TR, Hunter Pakokku, Six Senses Guerrilla Force, Justice Revolution Force, Black Cheater, and Mying Pa Ka Pha (led by Ko Hnin Gwe).

๐ฉ๐ฉ 5. Two Civilians Killed, Numerous Houses Destroyed in an Airstrike in Gangaw Township

The military junta forces carried out an airstrike using incendiary bombs on Kan Village in northern Gangaw Township, Magway Region, resulting in the deaths of two civilians and the destruction of multiple houses, according to "Yaw Alin Tan."
On March 5, at approximately 7:48 PM, a jet fighter from the Meiktila Air Base dropped incendiary bombs, causing fires that engulfed four houses, including U Aung Ko's motorcycle repair shop, while six other nearby houses sustained significant damage.
During the airstrike, a woman named Daw Htar Myint, approximately 40 years old, was killed instantly, while her husband, U Aung Phyo, around 50 years old, sustained critical injuries. Despite receiving medical treatment, he succumbed to his injuries later that night.
Additionally, three men and one woman suffered severe injuries and are currently receiving medical care.
A local resident stated that the targeted location was not a base for revolutionary forces but rather a deliberate attack against civilians.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 6. Buddhist Abbot Killed in Airstrike on Kyauk Kwin Monastery in Papun

On March 5, at around 4:00 PM, an airstrike was carried out by a military aircraft on Kyauk Kwin Monastery in Kamamaung Sub-township, Papun District, within the territory controlled by Brigade 5 of the Karen National Union (KNU). According to local reports, the monastery's abbot was killed in the attack.
The bomb directly hit the monastery, resulting in the death of Abbot Ananda Visuddhi, aged 62, who had been a monk for 41 years. His arm was severed, and his chest and legs were critically wounded, leading to his immediate death.
The airstrike also severely injured another monk, U Panyazin, whose hand was amputated, while another individual, Ko Rain, sustained multiple injuries. The entire monastery building was completely destroyed.

A forcibly recruited soldier, who had been conscripted into military service and stationed at Headquarters of Infantry Division (101) in Pakokku, Magway Region, was successfully rescued, according to a statement from the Burma Revolution Rangers.
On March 2, Myo Min Aung, a conscripted soldier who had been forcibly transported from Meiktila to Pakokku’s Infantry Division (101), contacted the resistance forces. On March 6, at approximately 9:30 AM, the rescue operation was carried out successfully.
"I am from Zee Kone Village in Chaung-U Township. I was abducted in a forced conscription raid. While returning from Yangon, I was taken from an express bus on the highway and forcibly recruited," Myo Min Aung stated.
Due to the junta's widespread forced conscription raids across the country, civilians have been urged to remain vigilant while traveling. Those who have been forcibly recruited are encouraged to contact the nearest revolutionary forces for assistance.
Similarly, junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee militia members have been urged to defect and seek refuge with revolutionary forces instead of sacrificing their lives for the military regime, which is on the brink of collapse.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 8. Two Forcibly Recruited Soldiers from LIB 509 Defect to the Resistance

Two soldiers from Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 509 defected to the resistance on February 27, 2025, seeking refuge with the Daung Nyo Battalion, according to reports.
All defecting soldiers were previously forcibly conscripted by the military junta.
The two soldiers from LIB 509 defected while on patrol duty by seeking guidance from local civilians. One of them has now joined the resistance forces and pledged to fight against the junta.
The Daung Nyo Battalion has been actively accepting defectors from the military and the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM). Currently, the battalion comprises 23 defected soldiers who are now serving in the People's Defense Forces.
