A fundraising ceremony titled “Compassionate Thingyan”, aimed at expressing the public's mourning and heartfelt solidarity with victims of the recent earthquake, was held on April 13 in front of Bupyeong Station, Republic of Korea.
The event was attended by Union Minister for Human Rights U Aung Myo Min and National Unity Government’s Representative to the Republic of Korea U Yan Naing Tun, both of whom delivered opening remarks and messages of support.
During the ceremony, interfaith prayers were offered for the deceased and those affected by the disaster. Buddhist monks chanted parittas, Christian pastors offered prayers, and Muslim religious leaders also led prayers, in a display of interreligious compassion and unity.
Following the prayers, representatives from various participating organizations delivered messages of encouragement. Donations were received to support those affected by the earthquake, and certificates of honor were also presented.

๐๐ 2. Military Junta Committed a Total of 641 Human Rights Violations in March 2025

According to a statement from the Ministry of Human Rights, the terrorist military junta perpetrated a total of 641 human rights violations across Myanmar during the month of March 2025.
These violations include:
- 113 cases of forced labor and coercion,
- 129 cases of arson involving the destruction of homes and private property,
- and 156 other forms of human rights abuses.
The Ministry stated that human rights violations are occurring daily throughout Myanmar, and that it is systematically documenting these incidents based on credible and verifiable sources.
Each case is recorded with details regarding the type of abuse and geographical location, including particularly egregious violations. The Ministry is also regularly sharing this data with the international community in real time.

๐๐ 3. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio Pledges Continued Support for Myanmar's Democratic Movement

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio reaffirmed that the United States remains committed to supporting those working to restore Myanmar’s path to democracy, and emphasized continued cooperation in efforts to ensure regional peace and security.
He expressed that in the aftermath of the March 28 earthquake, which brought about immense grief and destruction, the United States stands in solidarity with the people of Myanmar, united as one during these difficult times.
The U.S. will continue to provide life-saving humanitarian assistance, support recovery and reconstruction efforts, and cooperate with the international community to provide sustained aid.
As Myanmar welcomes the Thingyan Water Festival and the beginning of the Myanmar New Year, Secretary Rubio conveyed well wishes for the people of Myanmar, hoping the New Year brings hope, strength, and blessings to all.
He noted that Thingyan is a time to reflect on the past and look ahead to a better future. In the face of current hardships, he praised the resilience and faith of the people of Myanmar, stating that their courage shines even more brightly and inspires renewed hope for a better tomorrow.

๐๐ 4. Justice For Myanmar: Over 30 Civilians Killed in a Single Day Due to Junta Airstrikes Amid a Series of Tragic Events

Justice For Myanmar has revealed that civilians in Myanmar are facing a relentless succession of tragedies, with more than 30 civilian deaths recorded in a single day due to aerial bombardments carried out by the military junta.
According to a statement released by Justice For Myanmar on April 13, over 4,000 people have already lost their lives during the aftermath of the recent earthquake in Myanmar. Simultaneously, in just one day—on the preceding Wednesday—over 30 civilians were killed as a result of junta-led airstrikes. The group further reported that, since March 28, large numbers of people across the country have been subjected to brutal military assaults and killings by the junta.
Justice For Myanmar condemned the continuous tragedies befalling the people of Myanmar and affirmed its commitment to seeking justice and accountability.
According to official figures released by the National Unity Government (NUG), the terrorist junta carried out 72 aerial attacks between March 28 and April 11, resulting in 105 deaths. In addition, 30 instances of heavy artillery shelling were recorded during the same period, causing 6 more civilian fatalities.

๐๐ 5. Arakan Army Attends and Honors Traditional Dainet Ethnic Flower Festival in Maungdaw Township

On the morning of April 13 at 10:00 AM, a traditional flower festival of the Dainet (Thakma) ethnic group was held in Yenauk Ngasathar Village, Maungdaw Township, as reported by APM.
The cultural ceremony was attended by regional government officials, ethnic affairs representatives, and senior local leaders from the United League of Arakan/Arakan Army (ULA/AA). During the event, the ULA/AA extended honors and presented financial support to the festival organizers.
Local ULA/AA representatives expressed their appreciation and respect for the cultural traditions of the Dainet ethnic group, delivering speeches that welcomed and commended the flower festival. They pledged to provide greater support in the future to enhance and expand such cultural celebrations.
The flower festival is traditionally held in anticipation of Thingyan, Myanmar’s New Year water festival. It involves lighting oil lamps, incense, and candles in a stream, and offering tributes to the guardian spirits of the waters. The ritual is believed to bring blessings of good health, mental well-being, prosperity, and abundance of rice and water for the coming year.
