๐๐ 1. Prime Minister Urges All Revolutionary Groups to Prevent Illegal Extraction of Natural Resources
April 25
Union Prime Minister Mann Win Khaing Than has urged all revolutionary organizations to prevent the illegal extraction of natural resources. His remarks came during the (4/2025) meeting of the Union-level Natural Resources Management Committee held on April 24.
“While it is undoubtedly difficult to preserve and protect natural resources during a time of revolution, we must nevertheless do our utmost to conserve them within our respective controlled territories. It is vital that all revolutionary groups actively prevent the illegal extraction of these resources,” the Prime Minister stated.
“Meanwhile, the relevant ministry must continue to review existing natural resource policies to ensure alignment with realities on the ground, implement necessary reforms in a timely manner, and support the basic needs of the people and the socio-economic landscape. In addition, by preserving the country’s invaluable natural resources—particularly its forests—we can reduce vulnerability to natural disasters and contribute to national revenue generation. To this end, I call on all revolutionary forces to collaborate in the protection and preservation of these assets.”
The Prime Minister also emphasized the need for systematic protection and conservation of elephants in controlled territories, urging all groups to take action to safeguard the species to the extent possible.
