April 29

During a major operation by the Kalay-based CDF-KKG, heavy fighting erupted in southern Kalay as the junta attempted to recapture the Kyansar village outpost—one of five camps they had previously abandoned.

On April 27 at around 5:00 AM, two separate columns of junta troops launched an offensive aimed at retaking the site. In the ensuing battle, resistance forces reportedly seized eight weapons and quantities of ammunition. Seven SAC bodies were recovered, and more than 20 junta soldiers were confirmed dead.

Although junta forces retrieved some of their wounded troops, it was reported that they executed some injured soldiers rather than evacuating them.

The SAC conducted multiple airstrikes during the battle using jets, Y-12 aircraft, MI-35 helicopters, and drones, bombing several civilian villages including Nat Chaung, Nat Myoung, Aung Chan Thar, Than Pho, and Ngape. These attacks killed four civilians.

The operation was jointly executed by CNA, CDF-KKG, CDF-Vakok, MCR, and Military Region No. 1, and reports state that they successfully repelled the offensive without significant losses.
