๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. Over 30 Captured as Junta Column Supporting Thay Baw Boe Camp Is Crushed Near DKBA Headquarters; Junta Bombs Sone Si Myaing Village, Wounding a Child

In Karen State, near the Thailand–Myanmar border, a military column sent by the junta to reinforce the Thay Baw Boe base was intercepted and ambushed near the Democratic Karen Benevolent Army (DKBA) headquarters and Sone Si Myaing Village by joint forces of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and its allies, according to field sources.

The operation began on May 27, targeting a junta column consisting of more than 70 soldiers. The resistance forces surrounded and attacked the column, resulting in the capture of over 30 troops and the deaths of many others. More than 10 soldiers reportedly fled into Thailand.

This engagement follows a series of coordinated assaults by KNLA and allied resistance forces on junta positions along the Thai–Myanmar border. These included attacks on the junta's Thay Baw Boe frontline base, guard outposts, and other installations such as Maw Khi, Kana Lay, and Thi Thae Bler camps.

In retaliation for the attack on its military column, the junta launched an airstrike on Sone Si Myaing Village, located near the DKBA headquarters, on the afternoon of May 28.

The junta deployed a Yak-130 fighter jet to carry out the bombing, during which a child was injured by shrapnel, according to reports from the ground.

Although the DKBA is an armed group that has entered a peace agreement with the junta, regime troops had intruded into DKBA-controlled territory and conducted an air assault, breaching the agreement.

The junta’s jet reportedly flew dangerously close to the Thai border during the bombing of Sone Si Myaing Village, prompting Thailand’s air force to scramble two fighter jets in response.

Furthermore, the Royal Thai Army is reported to have placed troops on full alert and is actively patrolling and securing the border area.

As a result of the escalating conflict, more than 300 civilians have fled across the border into Thailand, where they are being temporarily sheltered in monasteries and churches, according to Thai media sources.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 4. Pyu Militia Leader from Putaing Group Shot Dead

The 3802nd Battalion, Unit (3), of the Tharyawaddy District has announced that it carried out a targeted operation that resulted in the elimination of a Pyu militia leader who served as a household head in Putaing Group, Letpadan Township, Tharyawaddy District, Bago Region.

On May 27, at approximately 1:00 PM, the militia leader, identified as Htun Htun, was returning on foot from a military checkpoint operated by the junta when he was ambushed. He was shot three times directly in the head and killed instantly.

The statement added that a mobile phone linked to communications with the military council was seized from the deceased.

Htun Htun was reportedly a key figure in the junta-backed Pyu Saw Htee militia group. He had been actively gathering intelligence on the activities and movements of revolutionary forces and reporting to the junta. Moreover, he was known for pressuring and mobilizing local youth into military service, forcefully collecting conscription fees from civilians, ordering the arrest of those who refused to pay, and providing false information to junta authorities leading to civilian arrests. He also challenged the resistance forces by showing blatant disregard for them, and forcibly recruited young people into the junta’s army.

Due to these actions, the revolutionary forces took decisive measures against him, according to the announcement.
