๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. Thay K’Pale Military Camp in Karen State Reclaimed by Joint Forces Led by KNLA and KNDO

June 23

Thay K’Pale military base, located in Kawkareik Township, Dooplaya District, in the Kawthoolei-administered area of the Karen National Union (KNU), has been recaptured by the joint revolutionary forces led by the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the Karen National Defense Organization (KNDO), together with People’s Defense Force (PDF) units, according to an announcement released today.

After the KNU withdrew from Manerplaw headquarters, Thay K’Pale camp was established in May 1995 as the new KNU headquarters. However, it was seized by the Myanmar military in February 1997—before it had even completed two years of operation.

Now, after 28 years, on June 22, 2025, the joint revolutionary forces successfully reclaimed and took control of the Thay K’Pale military base, which had originally belonged to them, from the occupying junta forces.

Metta Nanda Hospital (Yekkan Zin), located near the border of Singu Township and Madaya Township, was struck by an aerial bombing carried out by the military junta, resulting in the death of a woman—approximately 30 years old—who had come to the hospital for childbirth, and causing severe injury to another individual.

According to a statement from the Singu Township People's Defense Committee (PaKaPha), the attack took place on June 22 at 11:05 PM, when the junta conducted two successive aerial assaults using a Jet Fighter aircraft—once at 11:05 PM, and again at 11:10 PM.

The deceased was a woman in labor who had traveled from Set Taw Lan Kwe Village in Madaya Township. Another 35-year-old woman was critically injured (life-threatening), while 11 other civilians who were receiving medical care at the hospital sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The airstrikes also destroyed three buildings, including the maternity ward of the hospital.

Authorities have issued warnings urging civilians to stay away from areas near SAC (State Administration Council) positions and to dig and prepare air raid shelters as a precaution against future airstrikes.
