๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 1. Union Minister Professor Dr. Zaw Wai Soe Calls for Support for the “Safe Schools, Safe Education” Campaign

July 16
Radio NUG

Union Minister for Education, Professor Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, together with the Ministries of Health and Education under the National Unity Government (NUG), has launched a call to action in support of the “Safe Schools, Safe Education” campaign.

“Our five ministries have jointly worked to ensure secure schooling and safe education. However, the fascist military has deliberately targeted schools, children, and teachers. That is why we now need to further strengthen safety measures.

At this time, we are implementing the Safe Schools, Safe Education campaign with objectives such as establishing an early warning system, ensuring strong and reliable bomb shelters in every school, and providing adequate medical treatment for those injured.

This fundraising campaign aims to prevent the loss of our students—our future—and to allow teachers to educate in safety. I invite everyone to take part in this campaign.

On the ground, we currently have over 6,000 schools and more than 900,000 students. This campaign is part of our ongoing efforts to support them.

I call on all people of Myanmar, both domestic and abroad, and the international community to join us in protecting Myanmar’s future—our students—from the airstrikes carried out by the war-crime-committing military forces,” said Dr. Zaw Wai Soe.

The campaign, which sets a fundraising goal of USD 400,000, runs from July 15 to August 31.

The public is invited to contribute and support the campaign to ensure that children in Myanmar can continue learning safely in schools that uphold child protection standards.
