ππ 3. Minbu District Battalion (2) and Naga Region Pa Ka Pha Warn Against Participation in Junta’s Sham Election
The Minbu District Battalion (2) in Magway Region and the Naga Region Pa Ka Pha (People’s Defence Force) have jointly declared that they will impose effective punishment and take action against those who participate in or assist the military junta’s unlawful election.
The Minbu District Battalion (2) stated that the so-called election, intended by the fascist military, is illegitimate. They emphasized that the military—which unlawfully arrested leaders of the people’s government and committed treason by staging the coup—has no right to conduct an election. They added that the junta’s fabricated election is merely an attempt to prolong its power, escape accountability for crimes against humanity, and undermine the democratic process while usurping the people’s sovereignty.
Accordingly, the public has been urged to reject and resist the sham election entirely, while organizations and individuals involved will be investigated, exposed, and held accountable.
Likewise, the Ministry of Defence of the National Unity Government, together with the Naga Region Pa Ka Pha Special Task Force, declared that they will not accept the sham election, which would only escalate conflict and instability in the region.
They warned that those directly participating in or collaborating with the election process will be solely responsible for any loss of life, property damage, or consequences arising from it, and that resistance forces will not bear responsibility for the aftermath.
Furthermore, revolutionary forces have advised civilians to avoid junta battalions, military units, administrative offices, and police stations, as well as surrounding areas, for their own safety.
