The Palaung State Liberation Front/Ta’ang National Liberation Army (PSLF/TNLA) announced on October 29 that a ceasefire agreement had been signed between the Military Commission forces and TNLA, mediated by the Chinese Special Envoy.
According to the statement, the ceasefire agreement was reached during the 9th round of talks held in Kumein City from October 27 to 28 between a delegation led by TNLA’s Deputy Commander-in-Chief Tar Jote Jar and another delegation led by Deputy Commander-in-Chief Ko Ko Oo from the National Solidarity and Peace Negotiation Committee (NSPNC).
Starting from October 29, both sides agreed to halt all armed engagements at their respective positions. Under the agreement, TNLA forces will withdraw from Mogok and Moemeik Townships within the specified period, while the Myanmar military agreed to cease all aerial bombings and ground offensives in the Ta-ang region.
Meanwhile, the People’s Defense Force (Mandalay) — MDY PDF — announced its firm commitment to continue defending and safeguarding the territories under its control in cooperation with allied revolutionary forces, pledging to exert all possible strength and intelligence to protect them.
MDY PDF operates under the command of the Ministry of Defense of the National Unity Government (NUG) and has been active since June 2024. During the Shan-Mong military operation, it captured and took control of several areas in the Mandalay Region, including Thabeikkyin, Singu, and Madaya.
Similarly, the Mogok Strategic Command, which comprises PDF battalions based in and around Mogok, declared that regardless of challenges ahead, they would continue their revolutionary march and fight on, addressing the people of Mogok who dearly love their city.
Despite the numerous brutalities, oppression, and atrocities committed by the terrorist military regime, the revolutionary forces based in Mogok reaffirmed their unwavering determination to keep advancing in the revolution until complete victory is achieved.
During the time when revolutionary forces seized control of Mogok, local revolutionary groups such as MDY PDF, Mogok Strategic Command, TRI Strategic Command, BPLA, and PLA joined forces with TNLA in coordinated offensives against Military Commission camps in the area.
