๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 1. Interim President Urges Effort to Overthrow Military Junta Like in Syria

On December 10, during the 30/2024 Cabinet Meeting of the National Unity Government (NUG), Interim President Duwa Lashi La highlighted the importance of persistent efforts to bring down Myanmar’s military junta, drawing parallels to the recent downfall of the authoritarian leader in Syria.

“We’ve heard inspiring news from Syria where the authoritarian President Bashar al-Assad has been overthrown, marking a victory for the revolutionary forces. This should give us renewed hope. I firmly believe that the people of Myanmar can similarly end the military junta’s rule. To achieve this, our entire NUG government must work relentlessly to demonstrate our resolve,” said the Interim President.

He further emphasized the urgency of the revolution, saying:
“Time and tide wait for no one. Similarly, the tides of this Spring Revolution won’t wait for us. This is the most widespread and significant revolutionary wave in our nation’s history. If we fail to lead and make decisive progress, we risk being swept away by this wave.”

Highlighting the need for unwavering commitment, he said:
“Revolutionary work requires more than just taking a single step forward; it demands total dedication. Leadership built on trust and reliance from the people and society is essential. When we recount the history of this revolution to our descendants, we must be able to take pride in the strength of our beliefs and our full commitment to the cause.”
