๐ฉ๐ฉ 3. Battalion 805 Nay Pyi Taw PDF Appeals for Public Support in the Bulletproof Vest Campaign
December 17
Battalion 805 of the Nay Pyi Taw People’s Defense Force (PDF) has appealed to the public to participate in their bulletproof vest campaign.
On December 17, Battalion 805 issued a public statement saying:
“Even before we knew what bulletproof vests were, our comrades had courageously fought against fascist forces. Before understanding the protection they offer, some of our brave comrades had already sacrificed their lives. Later, we began witnessing how bulletproof vests saved lives during battles. When we conduct operations, we prioritize the distribution of the few helmets we possess to comrades stationed in the most dangerous areas. So far, we have lost two comrades to fatal head injuries, and two more have sustained head wounds. In previous operations, we fought valiantly without any form of protection.”
The battalion is now running a campaign to provide bulletproof vests for 90 comrades. Each vest costs approximately 21 lakh kyats (2.1 million kyats) per soldier.
The battalion has stated that during this campaign period, contributions of any amount will collectively help meet the targeted goal, ensuring that bulletproof vests are provided to their soldiers.
