๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 1. Emphasizing Inherent Values for Human Rights

December 6
The Minister of Home Affairs, U Lwin Ko Latt, emphasized that achieving respect for human rights must begin by applying and practicing the intrinsic values that already exist within our moral conscience. He expressed this viewpoint during a statement made in December.

"When we speak of human rights, we often refer to the historical context of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), adopted by the United Nations after World War II, along with efforts to raise awareness, ensure protection, and establish them as foundational principles of policies. However, even before we fully grasp or implement these elements, the practical application of values embedded within our innate sense of humanity—like equality and empathy—should be the starting point," the Minister remarked.

In Sagaing Region, human rights initiatives are reportedly being widely implemented, reflecting this commitment.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 5. Forced Deployment of Medical Officers Due to Staffing Shortages

December 6
Documents reveal that the military junta has forcibly deployed postgraduate trainee medical officers to hospitals due to a surge in desertions among frontline medical personnel.

With an increasing number of military doctors and nurses resigning, the junta has stationed trainees from five postgraduate training cohorts at military hospitals in cities such as Naypyidaw, Pyin Oo Lwin, Meiktila, and Aungban since August and September this year.

The affected trainees were compelled to suspend their academic programs and assume roles at assigned hospitals under the pretext of manpower shortages. This forced deployment has reportedly caused growing dissatisfaction within military medical circles, with desertions among medical officers and nurses continuing.

This report was compiled by Radio NUG correspondents Min Thiha and Ko Khant.
