🚩🚩 1. Four Military Camps Captured, 62 Clashes, and 151 Junta Soldiers Killed in December

The Ministry of Defense under the National Unity Government (NUG) reported that, during December 2024, the revolutionary joint forces successfully attacked and seized four permanent military camps of the junta in the Southern Military Region. There were a total of 62 clashes with the junta forces, and more than 82 strikes were carried out against junta camps and military convoys using drones and artillery, according to the statement from the Southern Military Region.
Key camp seizures included:
A junta camp stationed in Kwam Kyauk village along the Lamai-Kamaokanin Road near northern Ye Township on Union Highway No. 8,
The Micro-Way Tower Camp near Kamphauk region in Yebyu Township, Tanintharyi Division,
The Sinse Camp and Taung Thon Lone Camp in Hpa-an Township.
During these operations, joint forces cleared surrounding territories and captured weapons and ammunition, including 120mm, 81mm, and 60mm mortars, small arms, and ammunition.
The report confirmed the deaths of 151 junta soldiers and injuries to 89 others during December. Additionally, five junta soldiers defected to the revolutionary forces and were welcomed and protected.
However, junta forces' violent activities led to 24 civilian deaths, 48 injuries, and 349 arbitrary arrests within the month. These acts of brutality by junta forces and their allies have not decreased but rather escalated compared to previous months.
The operations in the Southern Military Region were carried out by PDF battalions, People’s Defense Forces (PaKaFa), Local Defense Forces (LDFs), Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), Burma People’s Liberation Army (BPLA), All Burma Students’ Democratic Front (ABSDF), Mon State Revolutionary Force (MSRF), NMSP-AD (New Mon State Party Anti-Dictatorship), the Dawei People's Liberation Front (TPLF), and other allied revolutionary forces, supported by drone units. The report also noted that actual junta casualties may exceed the numbers reported.

🚩🚩 2. Pyu Leader Min Min Oo and Group Eliminated in Nyaunglebin

The 9 Stars UG from Bago Region announced that Min Min Oo, a notorious Pyu leader under Battalion 20 and a township administrator in Nyaunglebin Township, Bago Region, along with his group, was neutralized.
On January 14, at around 8 AM, Min Min Oo’s group, infamous for extorting civilians along the Pyon Tansa and Daik-U River routes, was ambushed and eliminated on their return from Inn Tae.
During the operation, Min Min Oo and his deputy, Nge Zaw, sustained critical injuries and later died while receiving treatment at Taungoo Hospital. Two others, Lwin Oo and Maung San, were killed on the spot, and two others sustained minor injuries.
Min Min Oo was reportedly a key figure responsible for conscripting civilians to serve under Battalions 20 and 440, benefiting financially while exerting control over the military forces. The statement emphasized that despite their cunning behavior, figures like Min Min Oo and his group, who oppressed and exploited civilians, must face justice.

🚩🚩 3. Junta-Aligned PNO Forces Executed 5 PNLA Members

The Pa-O National Liberation Army (PNLA) announced that five of its members were captured and executed by the junta-aligned Pa-O National Organization’s (PNO) People’s Militia.
Although both groups are ethnically Pa-O, the PNO People’s Militia has reportedly been committing acts of violence against its own people under the junta’s direction.
On January 12, a joint force of junta troops and PNO militias launched an offensive in Si Saing Township, clashing heavily with PNLA forces. During this clash, five PNLA members were captured, and two were executed immediately. The junta-PNO forces suffered more than 20 casualties, including the death of their commander, while PNLA lost one fighter.
The captured PNLA members were tortured and executed on January 13, around 10:15 AM, despite still being alive at 8:00 AM that morning, according to a PNO statement. The PNO later released photographs of the tortured bodies.
The PNLA criticized the PNO for its brutal actions, noting that PNLA forces had always treated captured junta and PNO members according to the rules of war, refraining from torture and execution. It also referenced a similar incident in September 2022, when the PNO executed five PNLA members who had returned to their village.

🚩🚩 4. Junta Attacks in Karenni Region Killed 6 Civilians and Injured 9 in December

The Karenni Human Rights Group reported that in December 2024, the junta conducted three airstrikes on civilian areas in Karenni State, killing six civilians and injuring nine others.
On December 3, around 3 AM, airstrikes on a village west of Hpruso killed one civilian.
On December 27, around 3:30 PM, a 500-pound bomb injured three civilians.
On December 31, around 4 PM, airstrikes on an IDP camp east of Loikaw killed two civilians and seriously injured two more.
Additionally, indiscriminate shelling by junta forces caused further casualties:
On December 2, 4, and 6, junta artillery strikes on villages in Hpruso Township killed one civilian and damaged homes.
On December 10, artillery fire in Demawso Township injured two civilians and damaged properties.
On December 18, artillery strikes in Hpruso Township killed two civilians and injured two others.
The Karenni Human Rights Group condemned these attacks, highlighting the junta’s continued brutality against civilians.

🚩🚩 5. Military transports medicine from Lin Ta Kone Township Hospital using six military trucks and burns down three homes

At approximately 4:00 AM on January 14, a military convoy consisting of around 90 soldiers divided into two groups to invade the villages of Thet Kone and Thit Lha in Lin Ta Kone Township, Chauk District. According to a statement released by the Chauk Guerrilla Force (C.G.F), resistance forces coordinated an attack on the invading troops.
The military forces entered the township hospital in Lin Ta Kone and confiscated medicine, which was transported away using six military trucks. Furthermore, the troops burned down three civilian homes in Thet Kone Village and looted approximately 7 million MMK worth of goods, including two civilian vehicles and cash.
Allied resistance forces responded with coordinated attacks, utilizing eight rounds of 60mm mortars. The invading troops from the State Administration Council (SAC) retreated at approximately 11:30 AM, according to the statement.
The attack was carried out jointly by the Chauk Guerrilla Force (C.G.F.), Chauk People's Defense Force (PDF), the Magway District PDF Special Task Force, and other revolutionary groups in Chauk Township.

🚩🚩 6. Multi-ethnic People's Liberation Army Battalion (9420) conducts regular meeting

The Multi-ethnic People's Liberation Army Battalion (9420) held its bi-monthly battalion meeting on Monday, January 13, according to an official statement.
The meeting was attended by the battalion commander, deputy commander, and officers from various divisions and units. Discussions focused on preparations for military operations planned for 2025 in the Karenni region.
During the meeting, participants reviewed the shortcomings and needs identified during military operations conducted in 2024, aiming to address these issues and strengthen efforts for upcoming battles. There was a particular focus on adapting to the evolving political and military landscape to build a more efficient and resilient battalion.
Additionally, topics such as improving healthcare, education, agriculture, and livestock management for the battalion families were discussed. Measures to assist the families of fallen and injured soldiers were also reviewed, with guidance provided by the Strategy Commander of Strategy 1 from Division 7826.

The Special Operations Forces (SOF) of the Southern Military Region, under the People's Defense Force (PDF), received donations of warm clothing from supportive citizens, according to a statement from the Southern Military Region.
"For the sons away from their motherland, these gifts of love and care from the parents of the nation bring immense gratitude and joy. May all citizens of Myanmar be surrounded by love, warmth, and protection, free from sorrow and suffering," said the forces in their message of appreciation and prayers.
