๐ฉ๐ฉ 2. CNO/CNDF Captures Over 50 SAC Troops Abandoned by the Junta for Fear of Aircraft Loss
January 31 | Radio NUG
The Chin National Defense Force (CNO/CNDF) announced that it had detained more than 50 SAC troops who were left without rescue by the junta, reportedly due to concerns about losing aircraft.
According to CNDF's statement, the detained soldiers are being held in accordance with military protocols.
Although the junta promised to retrieve its troops deployed to Falam via airlift, the plan was abandoned due to the risk of aircraft losses, according to statements made by the captured soldiers in CNDF’s video footage.
One captured soldier recounted, "We are foot soldiers. We couldn’t dare jump from the helicopter, but they pushed us off. I fractured a bone when I fell from about 10 feet."
The soldier also mentioned that shortly after their arrival in Falam, about five junta soldiers were killed in a battle, leading to a severe drop in morale among the troops.
In their statements, the detained soldiers claimed they had no prior knowledge of being sent to Falam but were simply ordered to board the helicopter without explanation.
One soldier lamented, "When we asked for food supplies, they told us, 'I can’t afford to lose my aircraft for you.' So what are we supposed to do now? There’s nothing left but to fight them back."
It was reported that the new recruits included in this abandoned unit were primarily from Magway, Mandalay, and Sagaing regions.
