2. Marking the Kachin Revolution Day, which falls on February 5th, the Chairman of KIO/KIA General NBan La gave a speech in which he stated that the military coup leader Min Aung Hlaing and his associates do not seek peace in the war zones. He also stated that the military leader now in control should be used to bring peace to the country. In addition, political parties must stand up for the people and take a strong political stance on their behalf, while political parties that support the military junta must change so that they do not fall with the dictatorship. He urged all ethnic armed organizations to be careful not to cause problems and to help each other. The major goal is to end the military dictatorship. We must support one another while avoiding unnecessary conflict and not letting secondary issues overshadow essential political dialogues. We need to respect and recognize each other, and fight the common enemy, the military junta. We need to respect and unite against the common enemy, the military junta. Many soldiers have sacrificed their lives during the 64 years of revolution, and we will continue working for the future of our generation, believing in our eventual success. The Kachin Independence Organization (KIO) was founded on October 25, 1960; the Kachin Independence Council (KIC) was established in January 1961; and the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) was formed on February 5, 1961.

5. In the four years since the February 2021 coup attempt, the military junta in Myanmar has continued to commit war crimes, crimes against humanity, and other serious human rights violations against the Myanmar people with impunity, and the junta has only been able to carry out these terrorist operations because it continues to receive military equipment, including technical assistance for combat aircraft and related maintenance. On February 5, 361 local and international organizations, including civil society organizations, highlighted that the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) is the main supplier and repairer of military aircraft for the military junta, with its subsidiaries still selling such equipment. The signatories to this open letter urge the Netherlands government to take decisive action to prevent the military from accessing spare parts and related maintenance services.
