The National Unity Government’s (NUG) Ministry of Defense held the graduation ceremony for the second military training batch of the People's Defense Force (PDF) - Division 2. Officials from the NUG Prime Minister’s Office attended the event, according to an official statement released this morning.
At the ceremony for the Basic Military Training and Combat Weapons Proficiency Course (Batch 1/2025) of PDF Division 2’s training school, an official message from Defense Minister U Yee Mon was read by Rebel Maung Maung, Deputy Judge Advocate General of the Ministry of Defense’s Military Headquarters.
Also in attendance were Rebel Saw Shar, Operational Commander of the People's Defense Forces in Operational Zone 1, Saya Ma Yin Mar, Military Commander of the Southern Regional Military Division, Dr. Dewa, Head of Medical Operations for Thaton District PDF, Daw Phyu Phyu Thin, a guest of honor, and U Nay Phone Latt, spokesperson of the Prime Minister’s Office. They all delivered speeches during the ceremony.
Graduates of the training program received completion certificates, along with awards for outstanding performance in physical fitness, model student excellence, resilience, discipline, and leadership.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 2. Two Junta Soldiers Killed in 60mm Mortar Attack on Military Outpost at a Fuel Shop in Chaung-U Township

The Snipe Rangers Force - Local PDF reported today that two junta soldiers were killed, and five others were injured in a mortar attack targeting a military outpost stationed at Mya Pulae Fuel Shop in Khin Mon Village, Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Region.
The attack took place at around 4:00 PM on February 18, with Snipe Rangers Force fighters firing three rounds of 60mm mortars at the military outpost. The group reported that a total of seven junta soldiers were wounded, with two of them succumbing to their injuries.
The military outpost at Mya Pulae Fuel Shop had reportedly been luring PDFs into an ambush while simultaneously extorting money from local civilians.
Following the attack, junta forces at the outpost retaliated by firing heavy artillery indiscriminately, but there were no casualties among the resistance fighters.
The attack was carried out by Snipe Rangers Force - Local PDF, PGC, and rural Pa Ka Pha fighters in a joint operation.
The Snipe Rangers Force - Local PDF has called for urgent donations to procure two additional small firearms, as they face critical shortages in weapons and ammunition.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 3. Memorial Ceremony Held for Two Fallen PDF Fighters from Yinmarpin District Battalion 35 in Shan-Mang Campaign

A memorial ceremony was held on February 18 to honor two fallen resistance fighters from Yinmarpin District Battalion 35, who perished during the Shan-Mang military campaign.
According to an official statement from Yinmarpin District Battalion 35, Rebel Khine Soe Min and Rebel Aung Myo Oo were killed in action on October 18, 2024, in an engagement within the Shan-Mang operational area.
The battalion’s statement emphasized that these fallen fighters valiantly fulfilled their duties in the struggle for federal democracy and the downfall of the military dictatorship.
During the ceremony, attendees paid tribute to the fallen soldiers, vowing to continue fighting in the people's revolution until victory is achieved.
Yinmarpin District Battalion 35 has actively participated in the Shan-Mang campaign in coordination with Northern Brothers 3 and other revolutionary forces.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 4. Three Civilians Killed in Junta Airstrike on Myazeti and Shwe Koo Lay Villages in KIA Brigade 8 Territory

The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) Information Department reported that three civilians were killed when the Myanmar junta carried out an airstrike using a Y-12 transport aircraft on Myazeti and Shwe Koo Lay villages, located in KIA Brigade 8 territory.
According to the report, the attack was deliberately aimed at civilian populations and took place at around 8:30 PM on February 17.
The junta’s Y-12 aircraft dropped bombs once on Shwe Koo Lay Village and three times on Myazeti Village.
As a result of the airstrikes, three civilians in Myazeti were killed, while one more was injured. Reports also indicate that additional injuries occurred in Shwe Koo Lay.
The KIA Information Department, citing local sources, confirmed that the junta has intensified its air raids in recent times, not only targeting resistance forces but also intentionally attacking civilian villages.
In response to the increasing air threats, the NUG has been issuing continuous safety advisories, urging the public to follow precautionary measures. Revolutionary groups have also been warning civilians about the growing danger of junta airstrikes.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 5. One Civilian Killed in Warazup Due to Military Airstrike

According to the KIA information department, a civilian was killed when the military carried out an airstrike on Warazup village, located along the Myitkyina-Tanai-Ledo road.
On February 17, at around 3:00 PM, the military junta conducted an airstrike on Warazup village, which lies in the Hukawng Valley region. As a result, one civilian lost their life, and several houses were destroyed by fire.
Local residents reported that People's Defense Forces (PDF) under Min Zay Thant’s command have been actively operating in and around Warazup village and the surrounding areas.
During the bombing, 27-year-old Labya Bran Mai was killed after being hit in the head by shrapnel, and three homes were burned down, according to local sources.
Just a few days earlier, on February 14, the military also carried out an airstrike on Sinkhan village in Mohnyin Township, killing two civilians.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 6. Five Civilians Killed, Ten Injured in Military Bombing on Chaung Ma Village, Ka Ni Township

A military airstrike using a fighter jet targeted Chaung Ma village in Ka Ni Township, Sagaing Region, killing five civilians and injuring around ten others, according to local reports.
On February 18, at around 5:00 PM, the junta conducted a bombing raid on Chaung Ma village using a fighter jet. It was reported that the jet took off from the Northwestern Regional Military Command (Na Ma Kha) before launching the attack.
As a result of the airstrike, four men and one woman were killed, and around ten civilians sustained injuries, according to a local news agency.
The junta has been carrying out daily airstrikes across Yin Mar Bin District, causing increasing civilian casualties and injuries.
Due to the ongoing risk of air raids and heavy artillery shelling, the Ka Ni Township News and Information Team has urged civilians in vulnerable areas to prepare air raid shelters, dig trenches, and use sandbags to protect themselves.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 7. PLA (Northwestern Military Region) and Allied Forces Seize Pyu Saw Htee Village in Taungtha Township, Myingyan District

The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of the Northwestern Military Region and allied forces launched an offensive on Htan Naung Kone Pyu Saw Htee village in Taungtha Township, Myingyan District and successfully captured the area.
On February 19, at 5:45 AM, the PLA (Northwestern Military Region) Battalion 815, Special Forces, and Ye Khawng Guerrilla Force, along with Na Pa Ta 704 Local Joint Battalion, coordinated an attack and seized control of the Pyu Saw Htee village in Taungtha Township.
The battle lasted for about an hour and a half, and the resistance forces successfully overran enemy bunkers.
Although the junta attempted to provide air support using an Mi-35 helicopter for approximately 30 minutes, the resistance forces managed to seize enemy bunkers, two corpses, and a cache of weapons and ammunition.
The confiscated items include:

1 MG grenade launcher
4 spare carbine magazines
105 rounds of carbine ammunition
8 rounds of .22 ammunition
