February 19
Singer Phyu Phyu Kyaw Thein announced in February that an autographed guitar she signed was successfully auctioned for £2,500.
"During the Panglong Day event in the UK, I autographed a guitar, which was later put up for auction. It sold for £2,500 (equivalent to over 13.7 million Myanmar kyats). I’m incredibly grateful!
I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Ko Aung Lwin, the original owner of the guitar, who generously donated it; Ma May Myat Noe, who personally played and displayed the guitar at the event; the UK-based brothers and sisters who meticulously planned and organized the auction; those inside Myanmar who participated with the spirit of solidarity; and the UK-based Myanmar families who competed in the bidding with enthusiasm.
And of course, my deepest appreciation goes to the Phyu Phyu fans who bid up to £2,500 just for a guitar with my autograph!" she said.
The proceeds from the auction will be used by the UK community to support Myanmar’s essential needs.
