๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 1. Acting President of the NUG Emphasizes that the National Unity Government’s (NUG) Sole Priority is the Success of the People’s Revolution

The Acting President of the National Unity Government (NUG), Duwa Lashi La, has stated that the NUG has no other priority beyond ensuring the success of the ongoing People’s Revolution. He made this declaration in his speech marking the fourth anniversary of the Spring Revolution on February 1st.

Duwa Lashi La highlighted that since the military’s coup in 2021, millions of people have resisted and demonstrated their opposition to the junta's actions, making it clear to the world that the military’s actions are unwelcome. With the unwavering support of the people, as well as the efforts of the NUG and allied ethnic revolutionary organizations, political and armed resistance movements have made significant progress in challenging the military junta.

He further noted that over the past four years, Myanmar has seen one of the most widespread and deeply-rooted resistance movements in its political history. Currently, revolutionary forces have gained control of more than 140 towns and cities. However, the Acting President emphasized that the journey is far from over. He declared that the fight must continue until the complete collapse of the military dictatorship.

The Acting President expressed respect for the resilience of the people, who have been fighting for democracy and justice since as far back as 1988. Throughout various military regimes, citizens have resisted the injustices and oppression through both political and revolutionary means. Today, thanks to the collective determination of the people, the resistance to military dictatorship has become stronger and more expansive. He reiterated the NUG’s commitment to two primary objectives: dismantling the military dictatorship and building a new federal democratic nation. These goals, he affirmed, will be pursued resolutely and without hesitation.

The Acting President also reaffirmed the NUG’s practical collaboration with ethnic revolutionary organizations, emphasizing the collective effort as part of a broader alliance. Despite the challenges posed by the complex political and revolutionary landscape, the NUG remains committed to working for the people and moving forward on the path to both resistance and nation-building. The NUG continues to rely on and incorporate public input to ensure the revolution's success and to implement meaningful reforms.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 2. UN Secretary-General Calls for Support to Restore Civilian Rule in Myanmar

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antรณnio Guterres, has called for support to help the people of Myanmar restore civilian governance. This appeal coincides with the fourth anniversary of the military’s unlawful coup, which overthrew the democratically elected government.

The UN Secretary-General’s statement pointed out that since the military seized power on February 1, 2021, Myanmar has experienced a significant deterioration across multiple sectors. Guterres condemned all forms of violence and urged all parties involved in the conflict to exercise restraint while respecting human rights and international humanitarian laws.

Highlighting the devastating impact of the military's airstrikes, which have targeted civilians, schools, markets, places of worship, and hospitals, the statement emphasized the severe human rights violations and the alarming increase in conflicts. Concerns were also raised about the junta’s plans to hold elections under these circumstances.

The UN noted that the number of people in Myanmar requiring humanitarian aid has risen dramatically, from about one million before the coup to over 20 million today, accounting for nearly half the country’s population. Of these, approximately 15.2 million people are in urgent need of food assistance, and preventable diseases are on the rise. Additionally, nearly 3.5 million people have been displaced due to conflict, including a significant number who have fled across international borders.

The UN also highlighted concerns about the increase in cross-border crimes, such as drug production, human trafficking, and illicit trade, which have further exacerbated the suffering of the people in Myanmar.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 3. On the 4th Anniversary of the Military Coup, International Community, Including the U.S., U.K., and EU, Condemn the Junta and Stand with the People of Myanmar

On the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the military coup in Myanmar, the international community, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union (EU), issued strong condemnations against the military regime, reaffirming their continued solidarity with the people of Myanmar.

Australia, Canada, the EU, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States declared their unwavering support for the people of Myanmar who oppose military rule.

The statement noted that since the coup, Myanmar's citizens have lost their fundamental rights and democratic aspirations. Thousands of individuals have suffered the loss of their freedom and lives.

The military junta was strongly denounced for its systematic violations of human rights, including gender-based and sexual violence, as well as its oppression and discrimination against ethnic and religious minorities.

It highlighted that airstrikes by the military had caused significant civilian casualties and destroyed schools, markets, places of worship, and healthcare facilities.

These airstrikes have reportedly increased nearly 25 times compared to 2021, with an average of three airstrikes per day. Even in non-conflict zones, the rising number of airstrikes underscores the military’s intensifying violence, the statement emphasized.

The international community urged the junta to immediately reduce violence, ensure unrestricted and secure access to humanitarian aid across the country, and prioritize the protection of civilians. They called on all parties involved to fully comply with international humanitarian and human rights laws.

It was revealed that humanitarian needs in 2025 are expected to be 20 times greater than when the coup initially occurred. Over 19.9 million people—equivalent to one-third of Myanmar's population—are now in need of basic humanitarian support.

Approximately 15.2 million citizens are in need of food assistance, while preventable disease outbreaks are also on the rise.

The number of internally displaced persons has risen by nearly a million compared to the previous year, bringing the total to over 3.5 million, with many citizens forced to flee across Myanmar’s borders.

The statement warned that the growing cross-border crimes, including drug production, illicit trade, financial fraud, and human trafficking, are severely affecting Myanmar's population and could also destabilize neighboring countries and the region at large.

These ongoing crises are seen as detrimental not only to Myanmar but also to long-term regional stability, making it crucial for the military junta to immediately halt its destructive actions and adopt a course correction.

The international coalition urged the junta to end violence, cease the destruction of civilian infrastructure, release all political prisoners detained unlawfully, and engage in genuine and inclusive dialogue.
