๐๐ 1. Public Warning from People’s Police Force of Bawtpyin Township to Dig Bomb Shelters Due to Airstrike Risks
February 28
Amid ongoing clashes between the terrorist military junta and revolutionary forces across Myanmar, the People’s Police Force of Bawtpyin Township under the National Unity Government has issued a warning for residents to systematically dig bomb shelters due to the constant threat of airstrikes.
The terrorist junta has been continuously conducting aerial bombings using fighter jets and drones, targeting not only revolutionary armed forces but also towns and villages sheltering displaced civilians. This warning is issued in response to these attacks.
The People’s Police Force of Bawtpyin Township has also provided guidelines for the proper construction of bomb shelters and urged the public to adhere to them for safety.
Among the key instructions are:
- Clearing access routes to bomb shelters in advance.
- Practicing emergency drills to ensure quick access to shelters during airstrikes.
- Staying updated on airstrike warnings issued by revolutionary forces.
Since the military coup on February 1, 2021, Myanmar has witnessed widespread acts of violence and conflict in various forms. Armed resistance groups continue to engage in direct battles against the terrorist junta, which has intensified its use of artillery shelling and aerial bombings, resulting in an increasing number of civilian casualties.

๐๐ 2. Legal Rights to Defend Against Accusations
February 28
The Ministry of Women, Youth, and Child Affairs has issued a statement reminding the public that anyone accused of a crime has the legal right to defend themselves and challenge the allegations under the law.
If someone files a complaint against you at a police station or in court, you should immediately seek legal counsel from a legal advisor or lawyer without delay. Do not wait until you are arrested or formally charged in court, as addressing legal issues early is crucial—similar to seeking medical treatment at the onset of an illness rather than after it worsens.
From the moment of arrest to the final court verdict, an accused person has the right to appeal and is entitled to all legal protections available under the law.
Whether arrested for a bailable or non-bailable offense, detainees have the right to question their arresting officers. If arrested in a public place or at home, the detainee has the right to ask for the officer’s name, rank, department, and whether an arrest warrant is present. If no warrant is shown, the detainee has the right to inquire about the specific charges against them.
For legal assistance, individuals can contact Myittar Legal Aid for guidance and support, according to the Ministry of Women, Youth, and Child Affairs.
