๐ฉ๐ฉ 1. Four Resistance Fighters Killed as Military Council Troops Suffer Losses in Mobye Offensive
February 28
Resistance forces engaged in fierce clashes with the Military Council troops, who launched a large-scale offensive into Mobye, a town located on the border between Karenni and Shan states. According to a statement released today (February 28) by the MOBYE PDF Rescue and Medical Team (MPRT), the junta forces sustained casualties, while four resistance fighters lost their lives.
The military column, consisting of junta troops from the Mobye-based Infantry Battalion 422, launched the assault on February 27 with overwhelming force. This led to intense fighting against a joint force of the People's Defense Forces (PDF) and the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF). Reports indicate that the junta utilized airstrikes, drones, and heavy artillery during the battle.
Despite the junta’s attempt to regain control of Mobye, the resistance forces fiercely counterattacked, inflicting significant losses on the military column, ultimately forcing them to retreat, MPRT stated.
The clashes resulted in heavy casualties on the junta’s side, but four resistance fighters also sacrificed their lives, with additional injuries reported among the revolutionary forces. While the junta troops were unable to launch another ground assault, local sources reported that they began shelling the area from a distance starting the morning of February 28.
As Mobye is a strategic location, the junta is persistently attempting to seize control, leading to renewed clashes in the region. Amid the ongoing fighting, the military council has been indiscriminately targeting civilian areas, prompting KNDF Battalion 3 and Mobye PDF to declare that the town's main roads will remain closed until February 28.

The attack reportedly left three junta soldiers critically injured.
The convoy, consisting of five vehicles, was traveling from the Northwestern Regional Military Command Headquarters in Monywa to Infantry Division 33 in Sagaing when it was ambushed on February 25 at night. ๐ฉ๐ฉ 4. Resistance Forces Detonate Mines on Copper Convoy Escorted by Junta Troops on Monywa-Mandalay Highway, Destroying Two Vehicles
February 28
A convoy transporting copper, escorted by junta security forces, was ambushed with landmines along the Monywa-Mandalay Highway. The attack resulted in the destruction of two trucks, according to the Nway Oo Brothers Column, a resistance group operating in Monywa District.
Acting on intelligence that the junta forces were escorting a copper shipment, the resistance forces prepared an ambush. On the morning of February 27 at around 9:30 AM, they detonated landmines as the convoy passed through the designated location.
The explosion caused one truck to overturn while another suffered severe damage to its front section. Despite attempts by junta security forces to repair the second vehicle overnight and continue the journey, the overturned truck remained stranded between Chaung-U and Myinmu as of the evening of February 27.
The attack resulted in multiple injuries among junta troops and drivers, with many being transported to Chaung-U Hospital for emergency treatment before being transferred to Mandalay later that night.
Following the ambush, junta forces retaliated with small arms and artillery fire for about 30 minutes. However, resistance forces reported no casualties on their side.
The operation was carried out by the Nway Oo Brothers Column in collaboration with the Lightning Guerrilla Unit and the Royal Tiger Force-Salingyi.
