On February 26, 2025, with the long-term future of the Chin people in mind, a political agreement was reached between the Chinland Council and the Interim Chin National Consultative Council (ICNCC)—two leading Chin political entities. This agreement includes the formation of the Chin National Council, which will serve as the representative body encompassing the entire Chin community. In response, the National Unity Government (NUG) has warmly welcomed and extended its congratulations through an official message.

The agreement also includes the establishment of a Chin National Constitution Drafting Committee, which is recognized as a significant step forward not only for the Chin people but also for the future Federal Union.

Despite past differences in perspectives, the ability of these two leading Chin political bodies to engage in peaceful dialogue and find common ground reflects a commendable level of political maturity. NUG emphasized that this serves as a valuable democratic practice for all revolutionary forces participating in the people's Spring Revolution.

Since the onset of the Spring Revolution, the Chin people have made great sacrifices in their resistance against the illegitimate military coup, fighting for freedom and democracy. Their courage and dedication have been widely recognized and honored.

NUG further stated that absolute unity, mutual trust, and strong solidarity among revolutionary forces and ethnic groups are essential for the ultimate goal—completely eradicating the terrorist military junta and bringing an end to dictatorship once and for all.

By uniting and laying the firm foundation for the Chin National Council, this agreement marks a crucial step toward drafting a Chin National Constitution based on justice, freedom, equality, and inclusivity. NUG remains strongly committed to working together toward establishing a new Federal Democratic Union, and this message was conveyed with great enthusiasm and aspiration.
