๐๐ 1. Auditor General Vacancy and Ministry Financial Reviews
February 6
Despite the vacancy in the position of Auditor General, the Office of the Auditor General continues to review and approve financial requests submitted by various ministries, according to Union Minister for Planning, Finance, and Investment U Tin Htun Naing during the 7th session of the Union Parliament organized by the CRPH (Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw).
He stated:
"It is true that the position of Auditor General is currently vacant. We are striving to appoint a replacement amidst the challenges of the revolutionary period. However, although the appointment has not yet been made, the Office of the Auditor General under the National Unity Government continues to function. Established guidelines and procedures for auditing are already in place. Ministries submit their financial requests first at the national level to the Auditor General's Office. Upon receiving these submissions, the office collaborates with relevant ministries and the government to assess and process the required matters."
The Minister further noted that over 90% of the funds raised during the revolution were allocated to defense and security purposes. Detailed financial records will be transparently disclosed under a future regular government following the revolutionary period.
