March 18
The National Unity Government (NUG) has issued a warning, stating that all unauthorized investment projects operating under the approval or endorsement of the Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) under the military council must be halted without exception.
This statement was made by U Kyaw Zaw, spokesperson for the President’s Office, during the “Press Briefing 6/2025.”
"As the National Unity Government, we recognize and uphold only treaties and agreements signed between nations before the military junta’s illegal coup. Therefore, we strongly urge against seeking approval or endorsement from the illegal MIC under the terrorist military council for investment projects. Furthermore, all ongoing unauthorized investment projects must be immediately suspended without exception," he stated.
The terrorist military leader is unlawfully selling off national resources and misappropriating state-owned enterprise revenues for military expenditures.

ππ 3. 290 Civil Society Organizations Call for Investigation Into UN Special Envoy Julie Bishop’s Conflict of Interest
March 18
A total of 290 civil society organizations have sent an open letter calling for an investigation into potential conflicts of interest involving Julie Bishop, the United Nations Special Envoy for Myanmar.
The letter, sent on March 17 to UN Secretary-General AntΓ³nio Guterres, urges an immediate probe into Julie Bishop’s business dealings to determine whether conflicts of interest exist. The organizations demand that the findings be disclosed to the public.
Reports suggest that the Special Envoy has potential or confirmed business ties with Myanmar-based mining companies and Chinese state-owned enterprises, including Shenghe Resources and China Communications Construction Company. These connections raise significant concerns regarding her impartiality and independence, which are essential for her role as the UN Special Envoy to Myanmar, a position requiring engagement with the Chinese government.
At this critical juncture, as the UN’s delegation of responsibility for Myanmar reaches its final stage, the presence of a Special Envoy with conflicts of interest poses serious risks to the safety and well-being of the Myanmar people. Consequently, the organizations urge the UN General Assembly (UNGA) to immediately revoke her mandate.
This report was submitted by Min Thihan, a correspondent for Radio NUG.
