๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. Despite NUG's Two-Week Ceasefire for Earthquake Victims, Military Bombs Pauk Township from the Air

March 30

While the National Unity Government (NUG) declared a two-week ceasefire to assist earthquake victims, the military launched an aerial bombing attack on Pauk Township, according to Battalion 15 of Pakokku District.

On the first day of NUG's ceasefire declaration, at approximately 10:30 AM on March 30, the military carried out an airstrike on Pauk Township using a combat helicopter. Following the attack, a helicopter bombed the northwestern part of the township and later landed at KBP-24 within Pakokku District, a Battalion 15 official reported.

Due to disrupted phone and internet connections, the extent of casualties and damage caused by the bombing remains unknown.

The NUG announced on the night of March 29 that it would halt all offensive operations from March 30 to April 12 to facilitate emergency relief and rescue operations for earthquake victims. However, the military has continued its aerial assaults despite the ceasefire declaration.

"The fact that the military is still carrying out bombings after the earthquake shows they are not at all concerned about the civilian casualties caused by the disaster," remarked a representative from the Natogyi Township Guerrilla Force - NPT.

Three junta soldiers from the 902nd Military Base in Taung Kham Village, Naung Cho Township, under the command of the 2nd Military Region in Ta'ang State, have defected to the Ta'ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) with full weapons and ammunition, according to an official TNLA statement issued this morning.
