March 8
Radio NUG
KIA Deputy Commander-in-Chief Guan Maw stated on social media that the ongoing territorial disputes in northern Shan State between the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) will be resolved after gathering public opinion.
Guan Maw wrote, “We will hold meetings with the people of northern Shan. Once we have gathered public opinion, we should be able to make a decision.”
On the evening of March 7, TNLA troops stormed the Kachin Independence Organization (KIO) Liaison Office in Kutkai, Northern Shan State, and arrested several KIA personnel, according to local reports.
It is reported that TNLA forces arrested nearly all of the approximately 20 KIA members present and seized documents and materials from the KIO Liaison Office and the barracks in the area.
A TNLA official stated that the KIA had been instructed to officially request permission if they wished to maintain liaison offices and to refrain from wearing military uniforms or carrying weapons while residing in the area. However, since these instructions were not followed, the TNLA took action to remove the office.

The column has not yet withdrawn to Gangaw town but is instead awaiting helicopter assistance. Meanwhile, additional junta forces from LIB 50 are preparing to reinforce them and evacuate the wounded from Myittha Dam.
There are concerns that the column could enter nearby villages at any time or engage in clashes with local PDF forces. Therefore, civilians are advised to share updates about troop movements in real time and to stay away from military personnel to avoid being captured.

March 8
Radio NUG
The Chaung-U People's Defense Force (CHUPDF) has issued a statement warning about fraudulent activities in which fake official letters, bearing the group's name, have been used to extort money from at least six business owners.
According to the CHUPDF, the counterfeit letters exhibited several irregularities, including:
The use of the CHUPDF logo in unauthorized locations such as the heading, watermark, and an unfamiliar bottom-right corner.
A fraudulent phone number (099099) entered in the contact section.
A fake CHUPDF website address included in the letter.
The use of official document numbering formats, mimicking legitimate CHUPDF documents.
The use of the Chaung-U Pa Ka Pha combat unit's logo with the phrase "Chaung-U Pa Ka Pha" written on it.
These fraudulent letters, dated March 7 and 8, demanded 300,000 kyats from business owners, warning them that failure to comply would result in threats to their lives and property.
The CHUPDF reaffirmed that it only accepts voluntary donations and does not engage in forced extortion or intimidation for money. It vowed to take strong action against those responsible for the forgery and urged anyone encountering such fraudulent activities to report them via the group's official Page Messenger or to trusted CHUPDF members.
