๐ฉ๐ฉ 1. Woman Killed in Junta Airstrike on Singu Township
April 18
A woman was killed when the military junta launched an airstrike on Nat Taung Village in Singu Township, Pyin Oo Lwin District, Mandalay Region, according to the People's Defense Force–Pa Ka Pha (PDF-Pa Ka Pha) of Pyin Oo Lwin District.
The airstrike occurred at around 8:15 p.m. on the evening of April 17 (Myanmar New Year Day), resulting in the death of a 50-year-old woman and injuring four other civilians.
Reports indicate that the junta has carried out a series of airstrikes this month across Singu, Madaya, Thabeikkyin, and Mogok Townships within Pyin Oo Lwin District, causing civilian casualties and damage.
On April 16 (Thingyan’s Rising Day), around noon, junta forces also conducted an airstrike near the mouth of Naga Mauk Mountain in northern Tayar Pin Village, located within Singu Township, injuring eight civilians.
Despite the junta's declaration of a ceasefire, the attacks carried out even during the significant festive days of Thingyan and Myanmar New Year undermine public trust in the ceasefire announcement. The PDF-Pa Ka Pha of Pyin Oo Lwin District has urged civilians not to believe in the junta’s declaration and to prepare bomb shelters for protection.
