๐ฉ๐ฉ 1. Complete Recapture of Former KNU Dawei District Headquarters in Thay Khi Region; Lay Panadee (aka Takho Bee Khwee) Military Camp in Hpa-an District Also Seized

Joint revolutionary forces led by the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the Karen National Defence Organization (KNDO) have successfully seized control of the junta’s strategic military camp located in the Thay Khi region, which previously housed the former headquarters of the KNU Myeik-Dawei District and Brigade 4, according to reports.
On May 9, the junta’s strategic Thay Khi camp was completely overrun and captured. Earlier, on April 19, the revolutionary forces had also seized the Thay Hta strategic base, leading to the full recapture of the entire Thay Khi region under revolutionary control.
Similarly, on the morning of May 9 around 9:00 a.m., joint KNLA-KNDO forces overran and captured the junta camp known as Lay Panadee (also called Takho Bee Khwee), which was under the control of Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 24. This camp was located in Paingkyon (Takarae) Township, within Brigade 7 territory in KNU Hpa-an District.
In addition, on the night of May 8, combined KNLA and People’s Defence Force (PDF) troops also seized control of the junta’s LIB-598 base located in Nyaung Che Htauk Village, within Shwekyin Township of KNU Brigade 3, Kler Lwee Htoo District (Nyaunglebin).

๐ฉ๐ฉ 2. Ambush on Junta Convoy in Bawpyin Leaves One Dead and Around 20 Injured, Including Battalion 358 Commander

An ambush on a junta military convoy in Bawpyin Township, Tanintharyi Region, resulted in the death of one junta officer and injuries to approximately 20 others, including the commander of Infantry Battalion 358, according to a statement by Subdivision 3 of KNLA Battalion 203.
The attack occurred at approximately 2:20 p.m. on May 8. A junta convoy consisting of five Vigo vehicles and two trucks, carrying around 100 troops en route from Bawpyin toward Lenyar, was ambushed near the stream close to Kyaukphyu Mountain, between the villages of Border and Warchaung.
During the clash, an artillery officer from the junta side was killed, while around 20 soldiers, including the commander of IB-358, sustained injuries. One Vigo vehicle was also seized by the revolutionary forces.
This ambush operation was jointly executed by Subdivision 4 of KNLA Battalion 203, Subdivision 2 of Battalion 1 under Kawkareik District Command, the Flying Star Force in Bawpyin Township, the People's Defence Force (Pa Ka Pha), and the Bawpyin Township People’s Police Force.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 3. Two Police Personnel Killed in Attack on Pulaw Town Police Station

A direct assault on the Pulaw Town Police Station, located in Taung Yakam Village in Pulaw Township, Tanintharyi Region, resulted in the deaths of a deputy police chief and a police constable, according to a statement from Battalion 1 of the Myeik District command.
The attack was carried out at approximately 6:30 a.m. on May 9 by troops from Battalion 1 of the People’s Defence Forces under Myeik District. The exchange of gunfire lasted for about half an hour.
During the battle, the junta lost two personnel—a deputy police chief and a constable—while about six others were injured.
Additionally, the revolutionary forces confiscated one G3 rifle, 200 rounds of ammunition, two magazines, two mobile phones, one rank insignia set, and a service badge, and managed to withdraw successfully without casualties.
In retaliation, junta forces from LIB-285 stationed in Spupyin Village fired 15 rounds of heavy artillery toward Spupyin Village. Following the incident, five civilians from Aukpaung Village were reportedly arrested by the junta.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 4. Attack on Six Junta Forces at Myaung Town Police Station – Four Killed Including a Military Officer, Three Firearms Seized

According to CDSOM (Captain San Kyaw Column), six junta personnel stationed at the Myaung Town Central Police Station in Myaung Township, Sagaing Region, who had been extorting money from civilians through illicit service charges, were attacked by revolutionary forces. Four junta members, including a military officer, were killed, and three firearms were seized.
The clash lasted for over an hour. Three soldiers died on the spot, while the officer, who sustained gunshot wounds, died from his injuries before reaching the base. The remaining two soldiers were seriously wounded.
The operation was jointly carried out by the CDSOM (Captain San Kyaw Column), MRF Safo Column, Sagaing District Battalion 1, local Pa Ka Pha units, and the Zarmani Guerrilla Force.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 5. Four Rounds of Aerial Bombardment with Two Fighter Jets in Ka Ni Township

According to the Public Relations Team of Ka Ni Township, two fighter jets from the junta’s Meiktila Shan The Air Base carried out four consecutive airstrikes on Suelaykone Village in Ka Ni Township, Sagaing Region.
The airstrikes occurred at 3:48 PM, 3:49 PM, 3:58 PM, and 3:59 PM on May 9. The strikes reportedly targeted civilian areas despite no ongoing clashes in the vicinity.
As a result of the attack, civilian homes and shops were damaged, though no casualties were reported.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 6. Two Civilians Killed, Two Children and One Civilian Injured, and a Home Damaged by Junta Shelling and Airstrikes in Nyaunglaypin District

According to the Central Communication Unit of KNUs, a heavy artillery and airstrike attack by the violent, coup-installed junta forces on a village in Nyaunglaypin District resulted in an explosion that struck a civilian residence, killing two family members. A girl under 18 and a 3-year-old child were injured.
In addition, a drone strike by junta forces damaged a civilian home, and a separate artillery attack left another civilian injured.
On May 5 in Sawhti Township, junta troops from LIB-350, stationed in Thure Thamine Village, fired a heavy weapon via drone at the Thitaraye Buddhist Monastery in Kwinsate Village, causing damage to the nearby home of U Pho Pya.
Similarly, on May 7 in Mu Township, a junta aerial bombardment on Khawng Inn Village killed Daw Ree Myint (57) and U Hla Myint (67), both struck by shrapnel. Two children—Ma Po Dee (12) and Maung Ngwe Paw (3)—were also injured by shrapnel.
Furthermore, junta forces based in Konechaungwa fired multiple rounds of heavy artillery at Htwanikone Village, reportedly injuring a civilian named Saw Kaw Lar Thu due to the impact of a shell.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 7. Ceremony Held Honoring Police Officers from Sagaing Who Participated in the Battle to Seize Ann Town Alongside the Arakan Army (AA)

A ceremony was held to honor the police officers from the People’s Security Force (Pa Ka Pha) in Sagaing Region who participated in the battle to capture Ann Town, where the Arakan Army (AA) and allied forces successfully seized the Southern Regional Military Command headquarters in Rakhine State, according to sources.
As part of the recognition, the Sagaing Region People’s Security Force awarded honorary cash prizes to the victorious police officers. Support funds were also provided to the families of fallen officers, and the ceremony included a salute of honor in tribute to their bravery and sacrifice.
During the battle for the capture of Ann Town, an entire battalion of police officers from the Sagaing Region People’s Security Force joined the offensive. Reports state that 15 officers were killed and over 70 sustained injuries in the intense fighting.
Ann Town, along with the Southern Regional Military Command headquarters of the junta, was decisively seized by the Arakan Army (AA) and allied revolutionary forces on December 20, 2024. In this operation, Deputy Commander of the Southern Region, Brigadier General Thaung Htun, and Regional Military Chief Brigadier General Kyaw Kyaw Than were also captured alive.
