🚩🚩 6. Justice For Myanmar Releases “List of Dishonourable ASEAN Elites Over Age 30” to Expose Tycoons Fueling Myanmar Military Through Fuel and Trade
May 12
Justice For Myanmar has today released a list titled “Dishonourable ASEAN Elites Over Age 30”, aiming to publicly expose wealthy tycoons across Southeast Asia who have supported or profited from the Myanmar military’s brutal campaigns of violence.
The newly published list includes 12 powerful business elites from across ASEAN who have allegedly profited from the military junta’s atrocities by providing financial support, supplying military equipment, or facilitating financial services.
Prominent individuals named on the list include:
Robert Kuok (Malaysia)
Chairien Sirivadhanabhakdi (Thailand)
Nguyễn Thị Phương Thảo (Vietnam)
Chia Chong Yew (Thailand)
Li Tzar Kai (Singapore)
Justice For Myanmar spokesperson Yadanar Maung stated:
“In the past four years, ASEAN has failed the people of Myanmar. Their so-called five-point consensus has produced no tangible action. Their inaction is merely a silken cover for military brutality, while a wealthy elite within the bloc continues to funnel arms and supplies to the war criminals.
These billionaires are well connected with global leaders and heavily invested in high-profile projects. Behind every airstrike by the junta lies a web of commercial interests, and these economic elites must be held accountable.”
In 2022, Justice For Myanmar exposed 38 military-linked arms brokers operating out of Singapore. By 2023, the United Nations reported that Singapore had become the third-largest supplier of weapons to Myanmar, with arms exports totaling USD 254 million. This revelation prompted pressure campaigns, including the launch of the #DoMoreSingapore movement, aimed at urging businesses and governments to take meaningful action.
