๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. Seven Homes Destroyed as SAC Launches 500-lb Bomb Airstrikes on Nawnghkio and Mogok

May 14

The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) has reported that a 500-lb bomb airstrike carried out by junta forces on Nawnghkio in northern Shan State and Mogok in Mandalay Region has destroyed seven civilian homes.

On the night of May 13 at around 9:30 PM, junta forces used fighter jets to drop 500-lb bombs on Nawnghkio Town. The bombs were dropped without any active fighting occurring in the area, specifically targeting Ward 10 of Nawnghkio Township, which is under the control of the PSLF/TNLA. The attack resulted in the destruction of seven homes.

In a separate incident, at 11:49 PM on the same night, junta forces also carried out a bombing raid near Shwe Laipyar in Mogok using fighter jets.

Previously, on the night of May 12, junta airstrikes using fighter jets were conducted on Mantong and Monekoe Towns. As a result, one civilian from Mantong was killed, three others were injured, and 27 civilian homes were damaged by bomb fragments.

Additionally, in Monekoe’s Tarlone Ward, four bombs were dropped during two separate airstrikes near a local school, according to a statement issued by the Information and Public Relations Department of the PSLF/TNLA.

Despite the ongoing military operations, the Three Brotherhood Alliance announced on May 1 that they had extended their unilateral ceasefire for one more month in order to continue humanitarian relief operations for earthquake-affected communities.

The SAC, on May 6, also announced an extension of its ceasefire period until May 31. However, reports from the ground indicate that junta forces have continued launching offensives, conducting daily attacks with heavy artillery, drone strikes, and aerial bombings.

Due to these nearly daily airstrikes and bombardments by junta forces, revolutionary groups are urging the public to remain vigilant and prepared for potential attacks from the air, drones, and heavy weapons.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 4. Junta-aligned Police Officer Involved in Killing of Two Civilians in Gyobingauk Township Eliminated

May 14

An officer from the local police unit in Gyobingauk Township, Bago Region, identified as Marn Htein, who had participated in the killing of two civilian motorcyclists, was shot and killed in a clearance operation, according to the Underground Guerrilla Force (Outpho Unit) under Battalion 3802 of Thayarwaddy District.

The incident took place on May 13 at around 10:00 a.m., when members of the Outpho Guerrilla Unit launched an ambush against the plainclothes officer who was riding a motorcycle toward Gyobingauk town from the Alae Kone Village area, where the local police post is located.

According to the statement, during the attack, the officer Marn Htein attempted to flee into a nearby house by the roadside. Revolutionary fighters pursued and conducted a clearance operation inside the house, ultimately eliminating the target.

From the deceased officer, the revolutionary force seized 20 rounds of G3 ammunition, a communication device, one motorcycle, and MMK 600 in cash.

According to local sources, the original incident in which two civilians riding a motorcycle were shot and killed by junta forces under the pretext that they failed to stop occurred back in 2021.

Officer Marn Htein had been involved in seizing motorcycles from civilians, shooting and killing two travelers on motorcycles, abducting and arresting youths in collaboration with junta forces, surveilling and gathering intelligence on activists and revolutionary fighters, and threatening and extorting local civilians under various pretexts. The Outpho Underground Guerrilla Force stated that these were the grounds for the operation carried out against him.

The group also warned the public not to associate with or frequent the areas near junta troops and their collaborators, as attacks against junta forces and their informants will continue to be launched anytime and anywhere.
