At approximately 2:00 PM on May 15, the military junta carried out an airstrike using jet fighters on Kyauk Taw Town in Rakhine State, killing seven civilians, including a child, and injuring at least four others, according to a report by DMG News Agency.
The attack targeted the area near the Agricultural Training School, along the oil shop lane in the Ywama Ward of Kyauk Taw, with bombs including 500-pound and cluster munitions. The wounded were transported to a hospital for treatment.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 2. Airstrike in Min Tat Kills 13-Year-Old Student and Woman

A village in Sector (1) of Min Tat Township, Chin State, was bombarded by the military junta on May 15, resulting in the deaths of two civilians, including a 13-year-old school student, according to the Min Tat Township People’s Administration.
The airstrike occurred around 9:30 AM and killed a young student aged 13 and a 40-year-old woman. Additionally, 11 other civilians were injured, and over 40 homes, including the village school, sustained significant damage.
The Min Tat Township People's Administration stated that they have provided on-ground assistance to the victims and families of the deceased.
Since the fall of Min Tat town to resistance forces, the junta has conducted airstrikes in the area at least 13 times over the past three months, highlighting an urgent need for humanitarian aid for the victims of these repeated bombings.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 3. Junta Launches Artillery and Air Attacks on Villages in Nyaungshwe and Kawlin Townships

On May 15 at around 1:30 AM, junta forces and their allied PNA militia launched indiscriminate artillery attacks on Phaya Taung Village, located on the southern side of Inle Lake in Nyaungshwe Township, resulting in the destruction of a residential home, according to a human rights group based in the Inle region.
Separately, on May 14 at 10:13 PM, a junta fighter jet carried out an airstrike on Kanyo Inn Village in Kawlin Township, Kawlin District, Sagaing Region, as reported by the Kawlin Township Pa-Ah-Pha (People’s Administration).
Two 300-pound bombs landed near the homes of U Myint Thein and U Phoe Ni. Although the bombs failed to detonate, causing no civilian casualties, nearby homes were reportedly damaged in the impact.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 4. Four Killed, Including a New Mother, in Junta Airstrike on Laypin Taung Village

In Laypin Taung Village, Kyaukpadaung Township, Nyaung-U District, Mandalay Region, the military junta conducted an aerial bombing that killed four civilians, including a woman who had just given birth, according to reports.
On May 14, between 9:15 AM and 2:17 PM, junta forces carried out airstrikes using jet fighters, dropping four 200-pound bombs. The bombs struck residential areas and a local stream, causing massive explosions.
Due to direct bomb impacts, four people were killed: 31-year-old Ma Win Thuza, who had recently given birth; her husband Ko Win Htwe; a visiting relative Daw Myint Myint Wai; and a 70-year-old neighbor, Daw Win Kyi.
Additionally, Ma Win Thuza’s father, U Maung Than, sustained serious injuries, though the newborn child reportedly survived without harm.
Five homes were also destroyed in the blasts, and two cows were killed.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 5. Three Elderly Civilians Killed in Junta Bombing of Thakyin and Yebo (South) Villages

On May 15 at 12:40 PM, junta forces launched airstrikes on civilian homes in the central areas of Thakyin and Yebo (South) Villages, located in Nganzun Township. The attacks were carried out using a Y-12 transport aircraft and occurred in the absence of any armed conflict in the area.
Three elderly civilians were killed and five others were seriously injured, according to local sources.
The deceased have been identified as U Kyaw Than (70), U Myint Than (55), and U Nay Win (53), all from Thakyin Village. Among the five seriously injured across both villages, several were women.
The junta dropped a total of 21 bombs on Thakyin Village and four bombs on Yebo (South) Village. Earlier the same day, around 12 noon, the military also shelled Thankone Village in Nganzun Township with a Howitzer. As a result, 18-year-old Ko Hein Min Htet was killed, according to a statement by the Nganzun Fire Dragon resistance group to Mizzima News.

The military junta launched an airstrike on a school in Lapo Village, Gangaw Township, Magway Region, resulting in the destruction of the school building, according to a statement from Yaw Light Group.
The attack took place at 11:24 PM on May 14, when a jet fighter (MIG-29) from Tada-U Air Base bombed the school premises in Lapo Village.
The explosion damaged the main school hall, particularly causing it to collapse in the middle. Fortunately, no civilian casualties were reported.
Since before May 1, the junta has been carrying out near-daily airstrikes across various locations in Gangaw District, Yaw Region.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 7. High School Girl Killed by Artillery Strike in Yekyipin Village, Yinmarbin Township

According to local sources, a high school student was killed and a house was destroyed by fire when junta troops launched an artillery strike on Yekyipin Village in Yinmarbin Township at around 9:30 p.m. on May 14.
The victim, 18-year-old Ma Yamin Thate, a Grade 12 student, died after being hit by the shelling. A total of three artillery shells were fired by junta forces, with impacts recorded inside Yekyipin Village, in nearby paddy fields, and on the outskirts of Myay Yate Village.
The explosion destroyed a house, two motorcycles, two bicycles, and stored agricultural goods including onions and rice. Nearby houses also sustained structural damage, including roof and wall perforations caused by shrapnel.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 8. KNU Brigade 7 Launches Attack on Junta’s Mae La Camp Near Thai Border; Over 400 Civilians Flee to Thailand

Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade 7 launched an assault on the Myanmar military’s Mae La camp near the Thai border at around 4:30 a.m. on May 15, according to sources from the Karen resistance.
Mae La camp (also known as Maw Kwee Lu) is located in a territory under the active control of KNU Brigade 7. It lies to the west of Wale Mhu (Mae La) Village in Hpa-pun Township, close to the Thailand-Myanmar border.
A Thai news source reported that due to the ongoing clashes near Wale Mhu (Mae La) on the morning of May 15, more than 400 local civilians from Mae La and surrounding villages fled across the border into Thailand for safety.
So far this year, KNU Brigade 7 has seized several junta camps along the Thai border in the region between Hpa-pun Township and Paykkyon Town, including Buluhtu, Khalei Dei, Takhaw Bhi Khee, Maw Pa Thu, and strategic camp Tarlay. Currently, only three junta positions—Mae La, Mawphoe Khee (Mawphoe Kay), and Naw Tay Ya—remain under junta control in this sector.
