๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. Bride Among at Least 10 Killed in Military Airstrike on Wedding Ceremony in Shwegyin Township’s Kyun Kyi Village

May 25

At least 10 people, including the bride, were killed when the Myanmar military carried out an aerial bombing on a wedding ceremony held in Kyun Kyi Village, Shwegyin Township, Bago Region, according to local sources.

The airstrike took place this morning, May 25, when the military junta launched an aerial bombing on the house where the wedding ceremony was being held.

A spokesperson for the Southern Military Command of the People’s Defense Force (PDF) confirmed that the attack was carried out by the junta’s air force.

However, the same PDF officer clarified that Kyun Kyi Village is not under Shwegyin Township’s administrative area but falls within the jurisdiction of Kyaukkyi Township.

As a result of the bombing, a child, two men, and a woman were killed—making four confirmed deaths—while over 10 others were reported injured, according to the Southern PDF official. Nonetheless, local sources claim that the actual death toll exceeds 10, including the bride.

Following the seizure of the junta’s Infantry Battalion 598 headquarters by the Revolutionary Joint Forces in early May, military tensions have escalated in Shwegyin Township. As a result, the junta has increasingly resorted to airstrikes in the area. Similarly, military confrontations remain intense in Kyaukkyi Township between junta forces and resistance groups, according to military sources.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. Woman Injured, Three Homes Destroyed in Aerial Bombing on O Yin Village, Myaing Township

May 25

A woman was injured and three homes were destroyed during an aerial attack on O Yin Village, located in southern Myaing Township, Magway Region, according to local sources.

The incident occurred on the morning of May 24, when the military junta's air force bombed O Yin Village without any ongoing clashes, according to We Love Myaing, a local monitoring group reporting on regional events.

A junta jet fighter from the Meiktila air base dropped bombs without provocation, injuring a woman in her 20s and destroying three civilian homes.

Resistance groups have consistently warned the public to remain vigilant against the junta’s deliberate and targeted aerial attacks on civilians. The groups emphasize that the junta frequently launches airstrikes with clear intent to kill, urging the public to pay close attention to aircraft movement and remain alert.

We Love Myaing also issued a further warning, explaining that in many recent incidents, junta aircraft have flown past target areas before circling back and launching attacks unexpectedly during moments of lowered guard—resulting in increased casualties.

Relevant local authorities have been urged to routinely inform and guide civilians within their jurisdictions regarding aerial threat awareness and precautionary measures.

Previously, on the afternoon of May 20, four PDF personnel and two female family members of a shop owner were killed when a junta jet fighter launched an unprovoked airstrike near a rice shop close to a school in Bahin Village, northwestern Myaing Township.
