๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. Bridge Used by Civilians Destroyed Amid Intense Clashes in Lon Khin Area, Hpakant Township

May 28

Fierce clashes have broken out between the military junta forces and the Kachin Independence Army (KIA)-led allied resistance forces in the Lon Khin area of Hpakant Township, Kachin State, resulting in the destruction of a bridge commonly used by local civilians, according to local sources.

Despite an attempt by KIA and its allied forces to intercept a military convoy of approximately 600 junta troops advancing along the Kamaing–Hpakant Road, around 100 junta soldiers managed to reach the Yan Jet cement factory in Lon Khin Village on May 27, sources reported.

As junta forces launched a full-scale military incursion into Hpakant Township, their artillery shelling reportedly struck and destroyed the Lon Khin Field Bridge. Additionally, there are reports that two children sheltering from the conflict were killed due to the attacks.

Ongoing heavy fighting in the Lon Khin area has already displaced many local residents. Anticipating further clashes in the vicinity of Hpakant town, KIA and its allied forces issued an urgent public advisory on May 27, urging civilians in nearby areas to relocate to safer places as quickly as possible, local sources said.

The terrorist junta troops have been conducting large-scale military operations in Hpakant Township since late April. Junta forces have also fortified positions and engaged in heavy shelling from strategic locations, including Hpakant strategic hill, Lon Khin strategic hill, Lon Khin police station, Yan Jet outpost, Kan Si strategic hill, and Hpakant Myoma police station. Due to these intensified operations, local revolutionary forces have urged residents to remain vigilant and prepare bomb shelters as necessary.

May 28

Soldiers and police may have been killed during a heavy weapon attack on a junta base stationed to the south of Inn Pin Village in Pakokku Township, Magway Region, according to the Cobra One Pakokku resistance group.

The attack occurred on the morning of May 27, when a wedding ceremony was being held for a police officer at the military base stationed south of Inn Pin Village. The base came under fire with three rockets.
