Radio NUG
In order to facilitate ongoing operations related to post-earthquake relief and associated humanitarian activities, the three Brotherhood Alliances have jointly announced a one-month extension of their unilateral ceasefire, effective from May 1 to May 31, 2025.
The statement noted that widespread destruction caused by the major earthquake and its aftershocks across Myanmar has yet to be fully cleared or addressed through ongoing rescue and relief efforts. Even after a full month, these operations have not been able to proceed effectively enough to remove debris and manage the crisis.
As a result, starting from the time of the announcement, the three Brotherhood Alliances pledged that they will not initiate any offensive military attacks in areas where clashes are taking place with the military junta, except in cases of defensive or retaliatory actions.
