๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. Three Armed Pyusawhti Militiamen Shot Dead in Clearance Operation in Downtown Palaw

Three armed Pyusawhti militiamen were shot dead during a clearance operation conducted at a liquor shop in downtown Palaw, Tanintharyi Region, according to a statement released today (May 7) by the Myeik District Battalion 1.

The operation took place at San Win Liquor Shop, located in Ward No. 2 of Palaw town, where three Pyusawhti members—Kular Ni and Kyaw Thuraya, both reported as leaders, along with Than Naing—were reportedly intoxicated and causing a disturbance. They were shot and killed at around 5:30 p.m. on May 6 in a joint operation by Myeik District Battalion 1 and Myeik District People's Defense Force (PaKaPha) Joint Task Force.

The statement also noted that the deceased Pyusawhti members had actively participated in criminal and oppressive acts in the region, including extorting and threatening civilians, abducting individuals, collecting illegal gate fees, and forcibly conscripting youth into military service. They were also allegedly involved in setting fire to civilian homes during clashes across Palaw Township.

A pistol, ammunition, and some cash were recovered from the bodies of the deceased, according to sources.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. Junta Troops Killed in Attack on Military Checkpoint at Sin Myin Swel Agricultural Camp

Junta forces suffered casualties during an attack on their checkpoint stationed at an agricultural camp in Sin Myin Swel Town, Thegon Township, Bago Region, according to a statement released today (May 7) by Battalion 3601 of the People's Defense Force (PDF), based in Pyay District.

The attack was carried out by Platoon 5 of Battalion 3601 at around 9:00 p.m. on May 5. The target was a junta checkpoint embedded within the agricultural facility in Sin Myin Swel.

PDF sources stated that junta troops sustained fatalities and injuries in the assault. The wounded and deceased were reportedly evacuated toward Pyay overnight, and further verification is underway to confirm exact casualty figures.

Although junta forces returned fire during the clash, no PDF fighters were harmed, according to reports.

The Pyay District Battalion 3601 of the People's Defense Force urged the general public not to support junta forces in any form—including manpower, financial assistance, or by providing motorcycles and vehicles.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 3. Junta Soldier Defects With Rifle, Receives MMK 3 Million Reward From Aung Zeya Column

A soldier from the junta’s Aung Zeya military column defected with a firearm and was rewarded MMK 3 million, according to a statement by Strategy Group 31.

On March 30, three junta soldiers from the Aung Zeya column—stationed along the Asia Highway—defected to Strategy Group 31. Among them, one brought along a firearm, 390 rounds of ammunition, and six magazines.

The soldier who defected with the weapon was given a cash reward of MMK 3 million, while the remaining two were awarded MMK 500,000 each.

The announcement clarified that the information was only being released now because the defection occurred during a time when the public was in mourning due to the recent earthquake disaster.

Aung Zeya Column, part of the junta’s effort to regain control of the Asia Highway, has been under frequent attack by Strategy Groups 31 and 32, along with allied revolutionary forces. As a result, the junta has suffered heavy casualties in the ongoing clashes, according to military reports.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 4. Civilian Homes and Power Poles Damaged in Airstrike Targeting Civilians in Kawlin

In the eastern part of Kawlin Township, Sagaing Region, homes and electricity poles were damaged after the military conducted an airstrike targeting civilian populations, according to local resistance forces and news sources.

At approximately 1:05 AM on May 7, the terrorist military reportedly dropped two bombs using a fighter jet. The Kawlin People’s Defence Force (PDF) stated that the jet flew in from the direction of Tanda Bridge, carrying out the airstrike without any ground combat occurring in the area, and that the civilian population was deliberately targeted.

The airstrike resulted in damage to the home of U Maung Wai in Shauk Pin Chone Village, and nearby electricity poles were also destroyed, according to the local news outlet Kawlin Info.

Although the attack occurred around midnight, it has been reported that no civilian casualties were sustained, as residents were able to flee to safety in time.

According to the Myanmar Women’s Union, a total of 71 women were killed throughout the month of April as a result of actions by the terrorist military junta.

The junta continues to commit various crimes against ethnic communities and perpetrate human rights violations. In April, the junta intensified the use of airstrikes, particularly targeting civilians affected by natural disasters, in greater frequency than in previous months.

Causes of death include airstrikes, heavy artillery shelling, and deliberate killings carried out by the junta’s forces. The Sagaing and Mandalay regions reportedly suffered the highest number of female fatalities.

The Myanmar Women’s Union stated that its latest findings are based on a combination of verified media reports and field-based data collection conducted as part of its Women’s Documentation and Research Program.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 6. Taung Nyo Battalion Launches “Taung Nyo March to Htantabin” Campaign with MMK 100 Million Goal

The Taung Nyo Battalion has officially launched a fundraising campaign titled “Taung Nyo March to Htantabin”, with a target of 100 million MMK, it was announced.

The campaign will run for 45 days, from May 7 to June 22. According to the organizers, the objective is to minimize the loss of lives of veteran and new revolutionary fighters who are serving on the front lines by providing critical support through this fundraising initiative.

The battalion has called on the public to join and support the campaign.
