The official website of the NUG’s Office of the President features information such as the activities, speeches, statements, and announcements of Acting President H.E. Duwa Lashi La, all in one place. The platform aims to serve as a historical archive, allowing the public to learn and monitor updates, and to strengthen engagement not only with the people of Myanmar but also with supporters around the world who stand in solidarity with the fight for justice, peace, and federal democracy.

The Suu Foundation has issued a statement confirming that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi sustained an injury to her left arm as a result of the powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck on March 28, 2025, and damaged the prison building where she was being held. Jean Todt, president of the Suu Foundation, and Dr. Michael Marett-Crosby, its executive director, expressed deep concern for her health and well-being. They stated that we are extremely worried about Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's well-being and her ability to live in dignity. The United Nations has also called for her release. On the occasion of her 80th birthday, the Suu Foundation urgently calls for the immediate and unconditional release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and all political prisoners—a necessary step toward peace and reconciliation in Myanmar. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s legal representatives, François Zimeray and Catalina de la Sota, also voiced serious concerns. They said that the military junta has held Daw Aung San Suu Kyi in complete secrecy since 2021. Considering her age and the reported injury from the earthquake, we are gravely concerned she could die in detention. We feel the world is ignoring this situation. The terrorist military junta has unlawfully detained the 80-year-old State Counsellor since seizing power in 2021, and her whereabouts have remained undisclosed since then.

3. The British government has called for the immediate release of all those arbitrarily detained in Myanmar, including pro-democracy leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. The appeal was made on June 19, the day marking Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s 80th birthday. In a symbolic gesture, the British Embassy in Yangon changed its Facebook profile picture to feature roses—a flower often associated with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi—in her honor. The UK reiterated its demand for the immediate and unconditional release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and all other political prisoners in Myanmar, emphasizing the urgent need for justice and freedom in the country. The U.S. Embassy in Yangon also issued a statement calling for the immediate release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, along with that of all those unjustly imprisoned. This marks the fifth birthday Daw Aung San Suu Kyi has spent in detention since the military seized power in February 2021. The statement noted that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s life and legacy symbolize the Myanmar people's enduring desire for peace and democracy. In solidarity, international embassies based in Yangon—including those of the United Kingdom, the United States, Norway, the European Union, Canada, Sweden, France, and Denmark—posted images of roses and portraits of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi on their official Facebook pages to commemorate her birthday and to show support for the call for the immediate release of those who have been unjustly detained, including Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.

The Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM) has announced that it is investigating serious crimes, including rape, sexual violence, and forced nudity, occurring within military operations and detention facilities across Myanmar. Sexual violence in conflict is not only a brutal violation of human dignity—it is one of the gravest serious international crimes, causing lasting harm to survivors, their families, and their communities. On this International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict, the Mechanism reiterates its commitment to investigating reports of rape, sexual torture, forced nudity, reproductive violence, and other sexual crimes committed in Myanmar, including during military operations and in detention centers. The Mechanism is investigating the perpetrators of sexual crimes committed against women, men, girls, boys, and people of diverse gender identities. Investigations include military commanders who failed to prevent or punish these crimes.

On World Refugee Day, June 20th, the Karen National Union (KNU) called on the international community to continue supporting refugees and to take action against those responsible for forcibly displacing civilians from their homes in Myanmar. In a public statement, the KNU expressed deep empathy for the immense suffering, hardship, and loss endured by people who have been forced to flee their homes due to conflict and persecution. The KNU also acknowledged the strength, resilience, and courage of those facing such adversity. The KNU emphasized refugees are not mere statistics. They are individuals who deserve protection, dignity, respect, and the opportunity to rebuild safe and meaningful lives. The KNU urged sustained support for refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs), accountability for perpetrators of displacement, and collective action towards a future guaranteeing peace, freedom, and safety for all, especially the Karen and other ethnic groups displaced by conflict, oppression, and human rights violations in Myanmar. To mark World Refugee Day, a commemorative event was held at the Mae La refugee camp on the Thai-Myanmar border. The event was attended by students living in the camp, representatives from UN agencies, Thai officials, and members of the Karen Refugee Committee (KRC). World Refugee Day is observed globally on June 20th each year, following a United Nations General Assembly resolution (55/76) adopted on December 4, 2000.
