๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. Three Civilians Captured and Executed by Junta Troops in Hpakant

June 12
In Hpakant Township, Kachin State, three civilians were reportedly captured and executed by the junta’s military column, and their bodies were dumped by the roadside, according to local residents.

Sources state that the junta troops stationed in Maw Si Sa Village shot and killed three men on the night of June 11 and abandoned their bodies at the Maw Si Sa junction, where they were discovered on the morning of June 12.

Local sources believe the perpetrators are likely from the junta column patrolling Maw Si Sa, which had been active in the area and may have intentionally targeted civilians.

The same military column, which has been advancing through Hpakant with full force, had previously set fire to vehicles and buildings belonging to companies operating in the jade mining sector.

According to military records, from May 27 to June 12, over 20 civilians have been killed due to artillery shelling, drone strikes, bombings, and small-arms fire carried out by junta troops operating in the region since late May.

Due to the heightened state of armed conflict, the joint forces of KIA and KPDF have issued a public warning urging civilians to remain indoors between 9 PM and 4 AM and to be vigilant regarding the threats posed by junta troops.

Furthermore, the KIA-KPDF joint forces have advised against travel on the Maw Kaung–Karmaing–Hpakant road, citing an increased junta military presence and reinforcement movements in the area.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. Monastery, School, and Civilian Homes Damaged by Junta Airstrike in Manli Village, Namhkam Township

June 12
In Manli Village, located in Namhkam Township within Ta'ang Region (Military Division 8), a junta airstrike has destroyed a monastery, a school, and civilian homes, according to local sources.

The PSLF/TNLA (Palaung State Liberation Front/Ta’ang National Liberation Army) reported that in the early morning of June 12, the junta launched an air attack using a fighter jet that dropped two 500-pound bombs, directly targeting civilian areas.

The airstrike occurred shortly after 1 AM, with two successive bombings, causing destruction to the monastery, the school, and several civilian homes.

The TNLA stated in an official release that the attack was a deliberate airstrike against civilians, carried out without any prior clashes or battles in the area.

This is not the first instance. In December 2023, a similar junta airstrike targeted Manli Village without any active combat, killing a female schoolteacher, according to PSLF/TNLA communications records.

In response to these repeated attacks targeting civilians, the TNLA has urged residents to maintain heightened awareness and strictly follow airstrike safety protocols to minimize risks and protect themselves from future junta air raids.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 3. KNU Brigade 7 Headquarters Area Attacked by Junta Suicide Drones

June 12
In Karen State, the junta launched an attack using suicide drones targeting the headquarters area of KNU Brigade 7, according to local sources.

The attack began around midnight on June 11, with the junta deploying suicide drones to strike near the KNU’s Brigade 7 headquarters. No casualties were reported.

At 1:01 AM on June 12, the first suicide drone bomb was dropped. Between 2 AM and 4 AM, four more drones exploded in the area around Kalo Lay village, which is within the Brigade 7 headquarters region.

Padoh Saw Kale Sae, spokesperson for the Karen National Union (KNU), confirmed that the five suicide drones were used in the attack, of which four detonated successfully while one failed to explode.

Other sources reported that a total of seven suicide drones were used in the assault targeting the KNU Central Headquarters, with five successfully exploding near Sango Taung and close to the main administrative hall, though no injuries were reported.

This marks the third time the junta has launched suicide drone attacks on the KNU Central Headquarters, following previous assaults in January and October of 2024.

The KNLA (Karen National Liberation Army) and allied forces are monitoring and responding to the situation as junta forces intensify drone warfare in the region.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 4. KNU Strongly Condemns Junta’s Deliberate Bombing of Civilian Areas That Are Not Military Targets

June 12

The Karen National Union (KNU) has issued a strong condemnation of the military junta’s deliberate airstrikes targeting non-military sites.

KNU’s statement comes in response to a junta aerial attack on June 9 that killed five civilians—including three innocent schoolchildren—and injured 22 others. The KNU denounced the attack as an intentional act of violence against civilians.

KNU reaffirmed its recognition of the right to education for all children within the Kawthoolei Administrative Area and highlighted its previous issuance of a safety directive on October 9, 2024. This directive aimed to safeguard schools and ensure the protection of students and teachers amid ongoing conflict.

Despite this, the junta has continued its calculated attacks on civilian targets, including schools and students, the statement stressed.

“It is heartbreaking,” the KNU noted, “that even though young people—Myanmar’s future generation—are pursuing their education in locations they thought were safe from airstrikes, bombs, artillery, and machine gun fire, they are still forced to study under the constant threat of violence.”

The safety directive further appealed to the international community and all relevant stakeholders to cooperate in ensuring that students in the Kawthoolei Administrative Area have access to quality education in a secure and protected learning environment.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 5. Four Junta Soldiers Killed in Drone Strike on Troops Stationed at Zeyawaddy Railway Station and Sugar Mill

June 12

In Phyu Township of Taungoo District, Bago Region, four junta soldiers were killed and two others injured in a drone attack targeting troops stationed at Zeyawaddy Railway Station and a sugar mill located east of Zeyawaddy—both situated along the old Yangon–Mandalay highway.

According to a statement from the Phyu Township People’s Defence Force (PDF), the strike occurred at 9:45 PM on June 10 and involved both drones and aerially dropped bombs.

The drone unit of the Phyu PDF also carried out an attack on a junta checkpoint near the southern salt inspection gate of Zeyawaddy town, killing four junta soldiers and injuring two others, as confirmed by ground-level field sources.

The statement further noted that the junta troops stationed at the railway station and sugar mill had been engaging in forced recruitment of new soldiers and extorting money unlawfully from the local population.

Additionally, the mill’s manager and deputy manager were reportedly providing assistance—including private vehicles—to junta forces as they sought to reorganize the Zeyawaddy sugar mill for military purposes. This support was allegedly intended to facilitate both military operations and forced conscription.

During the attack by the Phyu PDF on junta troops positioned at the railway station and sugar mill, junta personnel reportedly fled the scene, abandoning two private vehicles. These vehicles have since been confiscated by the Phyu Township PDF.
