๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 1. CRPH Enacts the "Nonviolent Civil Disobedience Government Employee Law"

The Committee Representing the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) has officially announced that the “Nonviolent Civil Disobedience Government Employee Law,” submitted by the CDM Success Committee of the National Unity Government (NUG) of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, was enacted by the Union Parliament on June 13.

The law was enacted with the following objectives:

  1. To respect and uphold the political convictions of government employees participating in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) and to safeguard their civil and fundamental human rights;
  2. To officially recognize and honor CDM government employees as exemplary civil servants through effective acknowledgment and commendation;
  3. To provide necessary support for the continuous physical, psychological, and professional development of CDM government employees;
  4. To investigate and address the harm and human rights violations experienced by CDM employees, and to implement measures for justice and redress;
  5. To contribute to the establishment of a federal democratic union with a dignified, fair, and justice-oriented civil service system;
  6. To preserve the integrity and commitment of CDM government employees in the long term;
  7. To scrutinize non-CDM government employees in accordance with the law and take appropriate action based on their conduct or failures.

The law comprises seven chapters, covering areas such as official recognition, commendation, redress, pursuit of truth and justice, enforcement measures, the right to submit petitions, and the formation, term, duties, and powers of a commission, along with general provisions.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 2. Meeting Between Sagaing Federal Unit Parliament and CDM Government Employees Council (CCSC-SFU)

On June 13, 2025, at 1:00 PM, the Sagaing Federal Unit Parliament and the Sagaing Federal Unit CDM Government Employees Council (CCSC-SFU) held a video conference meeting.

During the meeting, the Speaker of the Sagaing Federal Unit Parliament delivered opening remarks and clarified upcoming procedural matters. Subsequently, the Chairperson of the CDM Government Employees Council (CCSC-SFU) also delivered a speech.

Following the opening addresses, discussions were held on several matters, including constitutional proposals during the transitional period, approval-related issues, the challenges and hardships faced by CDM government employees in Sagaing, and future strategic actions. The discussions were said to be conducted in a spirit of mutual understanding and coordination.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 3. Political Prisoner U Maw Htoo Dies in Obo Prison Due to Inadequate Medical Treatment

U Maw Htoo, a 54-year-old political prisoner incarcerated in Obo Prison, died on June 13, 2025, at around 7:00 AM, due to severe injuries sustained during the March 28 earthquake and the lack of adequate medical treatment.

He had suffered serious injuries to his neck and head during the earthquake. Despite undergoing two surgeries, his condition did not improve, and he eventually lapsed into a coma.

U Maw Htoo had been arrested on December 2, 2021, at Chanmyathazi Police Station in Mandalay Region’s Chanmyathazi Township. He was charged under Section 505(a) and Section 50(j) and was sentenced to 18 years in prison.

Although further surgery and treatment would have required approximately 8 million kyats, the Political Prisoners Network Myanmar (PPNM) could only assist with 1.36 million kyats. He passed away before sufficient funds could be secured for his treatment, the PPNM stated.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 4. Political Prisoners Transferred from Monywa Beaten by Prison Authorities Upon Arrival at Obo Prison

According to a statement by the Political Prisoners Network Myanmar (PPNM), on the morning of June 12, approximately 200 inmates, including political prisoners and other convicts, were transferred and arrived at Mandalay’s Obo Prison around 12:00 noon.

Upon arrival at the main entrance of Obo Prison (Gate Buu Wa), nearly all transferred prisoners were brutally beaten by prison officers and police personnel using rubber batons and wooden clubs.

As a result of the assault, at least 50 political prisoners sustained injuries, including deep lacerations and blunt force trauma to the head, arms, and back. The report further stated that their right to life and physical security was severely endangered.

On June 13, preparations were reportedly underway to transfer some of the inmates from Obo Prison to other prisons such as Myingyan and Magway. Relevant authorities have been urged through public appeals to take necessary actions in response.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 5. Mentally Ill Man Beats and Kills a Child in Ho Nar Village, Namkham

The PSLF/TNLA has released a statement reporting a tragic incident in which a mentally ill man fatally assaulted a child in Ho Nar Village, located in Namkham Township, Ta'ang Region 6, in Ta’ang-administered territory.

On June 10, at approximately 12:10 PM, five-year-old Maung Htet Aung Shine was playing near his home when U Sai Mar Wah, a mentally unstable man, struck him with a wooden log.

The child was hit on the head and lower back, and died while arrangements were being made to send him to a hospital, according to the report.

Following the incident, U Sai Mar Wah was apprehended by the Ta’ang Regional Police Force and taken into custody.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 6. Three Dead Bodies Recovered from Room H-2 of Sky Villa B in Mandalay

On June 13, 2025, at 3:10 PM, three dead bodies were recovered from Room H-2 of Sky Villa B, located in Mandalay City. The deceased included one adult woman and one male child, according to sources.

In addition, during further inspection, the following valuables and documents were discovered:

  • From Room H-7:
    • Four pieces of 10 ticals of gold,
    • One piece of 5 ticals of gold,
    • One piece of 1 tical of gold,
    • Two gold bangles,
    • Three gold necklaces,
    • Three pairs of gold earrings,
    • Two gold rings,
    • One gold pendant,
    • Two jade pendants,
    • Twenty small pieces of raw gold,
    • Important documents.
  • From Room H-4:
    • MMK 285,495,000 (two hundred eighty-five million, four hundred ninety-five thousand kyats),
    • One mobile phone,
    • Two ownership books,
    • Other important documents.

All of the recovered items and cash were handed over to their respective owners through the Official Property Transfer Committee, according to reports.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 7. TLA Holds Graduation Ceremony for Basic Ta’ang Literacy Course in Kyaukme

The PSLF/TNLA has reported that the Ta’ang Literature and Culture Committee (TLA) conducted a graduation ceremony for a Basic Ta’ang Literacy Course on June 10 at 9:00 AM, in Pan Phyat Village, Kyaukme Township, within Ta’ang Region 2.

A total of 58 participants12 male and 46 female trainees—completed the course. The TLA awarded certificates of completion to all who successfully passed the program.

The graduation ceremony was attended by approximately 150 people, including graduates, instructors, and members of the local community and parents.

In addition, during the month of May, the TLA had organized and conducted Basic Ta’ang Literacy Courses for a total of 205 students from the Mongmit and Mogok townships.
