🚩🚩 1. Airstrikes in Kamma Area Kill 2 Civilians and Injure 14 Including Children

In the Kamma region of Pakokku District, Magway Region, airstrikes conducted by the military junta between June 6 and 18 have resulted in the deaths of 2 civilians and injuries to 14 others, including children, according to a statement released by the Kamma Joint Forces.

The junta’s airstrikes targeted villages and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the Kamma area. Within the 12-day period, the area was attacked 80 times by Y-12 aircraft, dropping a total of 178 120mm bombs; 5 paramotor raids delivered 7 additional 120mm bombs; and 16 drone attacks were also carried out.

On June 14 at midday, four fighter jets launched a coordinated attack on villages in the Kamma area using 3 cluster bombs and 10 rockets simultaneously. On the night of June 16, two 500-pound bombs were dropped on a Buddhist monastery sheltering Kamma area IDPs.

As a result of these airstrikes, 2 civilians were killed and 14 others—including children—suffered severe injuries. Additionally, schools, religious structures, homes, and livestock such as goats and cows were damaged or destroyed.

Furthermore, junta ground forces stationed in Kamma Town reportedly arrested more than 15 civilians, and it has been initially confirmed that 3 detainees from Shwe Lone village, Yoe Zayat village, and Kamma Chaung area were executed, according to the statement.

🚩🚩 2. Military Escort of Copper Convoy Attacked with Mines Near Monywa

An armored military convoy (Jummer trucks) providing security for copper transport vehicles from Wanbao Company was hit by a mine ambush along the Monywa–Chaung-U road, according to Area-71 Local People's Defense Force (LPDF) Monywa.

On June 18 at around 7:00 a.m., the armored convoy accompanying the copper transport trucks left from the No. 33 Military Command in Monywa. At around 7:30 a.m., near the junta’s checkpoint at Khin Mone Village, four cluster-type directional mines (Padei-thar) were detonated in a coordinated attack.

Despite being caught between the advancing junta convoy and military outposts, the resistance forces managed to accurately strike the fourth vehicle in the convoy while carefully avoiding any damage to nearby civilian passenger vehicles or motorcycles.

Following the ambush, junta troops opened fire with small arms, and nearby military outposts also responded with 40mm grenades, but the resistance forces were able to safely withdraw without casualties.

This coordinated attack was jointly carried out by the Monywa Township Mine Team and Area-71 LPDF Monywa, according to the report.

🚩🚩 3. Junta Outpost at Shwe Moe Nyo Pagoda in Kan Pauk Attacked by Resistance Forces

In the Kan Pauk area of Yebyu Township, Tanintharyi Region, the People’s Defense Team of Yebyu Township has reported an attack on a temporary military junta outpost stationed at the Shwe Moe Nyo Pagoda near Payar village.

The attack, carried out on June 15, was led by the Yebyu Township Allied Resistance Forces, targeting the junta's temporary camp.

At least three junta soldiers were killed, and several others sustained injuries during the raid. Despite artillery support from the Mawrawaddy Naval Headquarters in Ohn Pin Kwin village, resistance forces successfully withdrew without any losses.

The attack was a joint operation involving:

  • Yebyu Township People’s Defense Team (Yebyu Pa-Ka-Fa)
  • T-1 Battalion from Dawei District
  • Dawei People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) Saga Ra Column
  • Don Battalion
  • Airborne Unit-6

🚩🚩 4. Soldier from LIB-52 Based in Kani Defects to the People’s Defense Side

A soldier from Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 52, based in Kani Town, has defected unarmed and joined the People's Defense side, according to a report by the Pa Ka Pha Voice (People’s Defense Forces Media).

The report stated that Pa Ka Pha forces are implementing the strategic plan of the People's War and are actively working to encourage more defections and disarmament among junta soldiers.

🚩🚩 5. 133 Civilians Killed in Magway Region by Military Junta as of June 18, 2025 — Including 22 Children Under Age 18

According to data collected by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), a total of 133 civilians43 women and 90 men — have been confirmed killed by the military junta in Magway Region between January 1 and June 18, 2025. Among them, 22 were children under the age of 18.

Of those killed, 69 civilians reportedly died as a result of airstrikes, making aerial attacks the leading cause of civilian deaths.

On June 16, the military junta carried out an airstrike on a Buddhist monastery in Zi Taw Village, part of the O Yin Village Tract in Myaing Township, Magway Region. A bomb dropped during the raid exploded inside the monastery compound, killing Ma Thay Kyi, a displaced woman who had fled from Htan Naung Village, Kamma Village Tract, in Pakokku Township.

🚩🚩 6. Woman Caught with Large Cache of Narcotics in Dooplaya District

In Dooplaya District, KNU-controlled territory, a woman was arrested with a large quantity of narcotics in Ward 4 of Phalu Gyi Village, Eastern Kawkareik Township, according to an official statement by the Karen National Union (KNU).

On June 14 at 2:20 p.m., a joint team of the Dooplaya District Police Force and Township Police conducted a raid on the residence of a woman named Naw Mu Khae following a tip-off.

During the search, authorities seized:

  • 24,920 methamphetamine tablets (Yaba)
  • 2 packs of ketamine
  • 1 mobile phone
  • 1 power bank
  • 1 gold ring
  • and other related items.

Naw Mu Khae, who was arrested along with the drugs, will face legal action under the laws and procedures of the KNU Judiciary, enforced by the Karen National Police Force and the Kawthoolei Legal System, the report said.
