June 20
Radio NUG
Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun, Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, has urged the UN Security Council to end the long-standing impunity granted to the terrorist military for its crimes, stating that only by ensuring accountability can the cycle of violence in Myanmar be halted.
Speaking at the UN Security Council’s open debate titled “Impact of Conflict on Food Security: Addressing the Root Causes of Hunger in Conflict-Affected Areas,” Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun stressed the need to terminate the impunity that the terrorist military has enjoyed for years.
“Only if the Security Council ends the impunity that the terrorist military has long enjoyed and holds them accountable for their crimes will the ongoing violence in Myanmar come to an end. The international community must support the aspirations of the Myanmar people if peace and development are to be restored in Myanmar. The National Unity Government (NUG) and its allied ethnic revolutionary organizations are committed to building an inclusive, peaceful, prosperous, and equitable future for the country through continued negotiations and coordination,” the Ambassador stated.
Over the past four years, more than 6,800 civilians have been brutally killed by the terrorist military, and over 3.5 million people have been displaced from their homes. Additionally, more than 20 million people are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance, according to current data.

📌📌 2. Urgent Appeal for Medical Professionals to Serve in Tanintharyi Region Amid Critical Shortages
June 20
Radio NUG
Due to an urgent shortage of doctors and medical specialists, Dr. Htoo Ne Aung, Health Officer for Tanintharyi Region under the Ministry of Health of the National Unity Government (NUG), has issued a heartfelt appeal for healthcare workers to apply for deployment in Tanintharyi.
“To effectively expand healthcare services for the revolutionary forces of the Spring Revolution, civilians, and displaced people residing in NUG- and ERO-administered liberated territories within Tanintharyi Region, we are in great need of more healthcare professionals. At present, there are serious shortages of specialists and general doctors, insufficient numbers of nurses, and inadequate Basic Health Staff (BHS). As a result, frontline healthcare workers are overwhelmed and overstretched to provide essential services,” Dr. Htoo Ne Aung said.
“Without specialists or sufficient general practitioners, those in need of comprehensive and effective treatment are often forced to cross the border in difficult conditions just to access medical care,” he added.
Currently, the NUG Ministry of Health has issued Announcement No. (5/2025) on June 17, 2025, calling for applications from healthcare professionals to serve in Tanintharyi Region.
Applications are invited from:
- CDM healthcare professionals (especially doctors),

These services are crucial regardless of which organization is delivering them, and no individuals or groups providing or supporting such services should be subjected to threats, harassment, detention, or violence.
