๐ฉ๐ฉ 1. 4th Anniversary Ceremony of the Formation of Kawah Township People’s Defense Force Attended by Former Ayeyarwady Region Chief Minister Mann Johnny

The 4th Anniversary Ceremony of the Kawah Township People’s Defense Force (PDF) was held on June 23, 2025, in the territory of KNU/KNLA Brigade 1, according to official reports.
Due to security considerations, the ceremony was conducted in a brief format. It was attended by officials from the KNU/KNLA, former Ayeyarwady Region Chief Minister U Mann Johnny, representatives from the Pa Ka Pha (People's Administration Team) of Bago District, commanders from the joint revolutionary forces of Bago-Yangon, township and city Pa Ka Pha officials from Bago District, and representatives from allied organizations and resistance fighters.
During the event, the following were carried out:
- Saluting of the People's Defense Force flag
- Paying tribute to fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives in the fight for federal democracy
- Recitation of the Four Core Values of the People’s Defense Force
Distinguished guests delivered honorary speeches, followed by remarks and words of appreciation from Ko Kyaw Naing, the township-level commander of the Kawah Township PDF. The ceremony concluded successfully.
The Kawah Township People’s Defense Force was originally formed on June 23, 2021, under the command of the Ministry of Defense of the National Unity Government, and operates as part of Southern Military Command, Battalion (2), Bago Regional Military Command, and under the leadership of Bago District Pa Ka Pha, actively participating in the revolutionary resistance.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 2. TNLA Patrol Ambushed by SSPP/SSA in Mongmit Township

According to a statement by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), a TNLA patrol operating in Mongmit Township, within the administrative area of Brigade 4 in Ta’ang Region, specifically near Moe Hauk village tract, came under ambush fire from the Shan State Progress Party/Shan State Army (SSPP/SSA).
The SSPP/SSA reportedly fired small arms at the TNLA troops twice—once at 10:14 AM and again at 11:36 AM on June 23.
Later, at 12:03 PM, an artillery round was fired at the area where the TNLA column was located.
TNLA also stated that on June 15, the SSPP/SSA took advantage of a TNLA troop’s absence from Hu Sone Hill outpost, occupied the position, and when TNLA forces returned, the SSPP/SSA launched a surprise attack, resulting in the death of two TNLA soldiers and injuries to three others.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 3. Resistance Forces Ambush Junta Reinforcement Convoy Near Wetlu Outpost in Natogyi Township

In Natogyi Township, Mandalay Region, resistance fighters ambushed a military junta convoy providing reinforcements to a junta-controlled police outpost in Wetlu area, according to a report from Myingyan District Battalion 4.
The attack was part of Operation 9/A Nyar Myae, jointly carried out by Myingyan District Battalion 4, Myingyan District Battalion 10, and the Pa Ka Pha of Tada-U.
During the ambush:
- One Deputy Sergeant from Junta Infantry Battalion 88 was captured alive
- One policeman defected and entered the resistance side with his weapon
- Two junta soldiers, who were forcibly conscripted under the People’s Military Service Law, were rescued
Weapons and ammunition seized included:
- 1 x MA-1 rifle
- 1 x MA-3 rifle
- 92 x G3 rounds
- 1,500 x 5.56 mm rounds
- 12 x M9 grenades
- 8 x 60mm mortar shells
- 1 x 60mm mortar launcher
- 2 x RPG warheads
- 2 x RPG rockets
- 14 x anti-personnel mines
- 11 x hand grenades
- 1 x drone shooter
- 6 x magazines
According to the statement, 13 junta troops were killed, 5 were injured, and the resistance forces recovered one body from the scene.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 4. Junta Troops Fired Heavy Weapons into a Village in Karenni State Despite No Fighting

According to KNDF Battalion 12, junta troops from Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 530, based in Loilin Lay Town, Karenni State, indiscriminately fired heavy artillery into a village despite there being no clashes in the area, resulting in injuries to four civilians.
At approximately 5:30 p.m. on June 22, the junta troops fired around five 60mm mortar shells into a village located in the eastern part of Loilin Lay Township, without provocation.
As a result of the shelling, four civilians were injured:
- A 36-year-old woman
- A 19-year-old woman
- An 18-year-old man
- A 14-year-old boy

๐ฉ๐ฉ 5. Three Civilians Injured by Junta Attacks in Hpapun District

According to the Karen National Union (KNU), three civilians were injured in Ler Doh (Kyaukkyi) Township and Mu Township, located in Kale Lu Htoo District, an area under the Kaw Thoo Lei administrative region, due to intentional shelling and drone strikes carried out by junta forces.
On June 14, junta troops from LIB 264, based in Painzalote, fired:
- One 120mm shell into Thamin Ein Kone village
- Two 120mm shells into Phyan Ta Lin village
This resulted in injuries to:
- Naw Htee Lar Phaw (26), from Thamin Ein Kone
- Naw Mu Mu (42), and
- Saw Dawng Phyone (11), both from Phyan Ta Lin
On June 17, junta forces again fired three 120mm shells into Thamin Ein Kone village.
On June 20, junta forces based in Natthan Gwin conducted additional attacks:
- Dropped 12 bombs using drones on Oakshet Kone village
- Fired three artillery shells into Yay Lae village
- Launched one artillery shell into a paddy field
The attacks damaged:
- One Buddhist monastery
- One Christian church
- Four residential houses

๐ฉ๐ฉ 6. Airstrike in Pauk Township Kills 5, Injures Many

At around 6:30 a.m. on June 23, junta aircraft carried out airstrikes on several villages in the southern part of Pauk Township, including Bome, Bokone, Let Yar, Let Pan Hla, Tansuu, Thakkakyin, and Kinma, despite no fighting taking place in the area, according to local sources.
The strikes resulted in:
- The deaths of three civilians from Thakkakyin village
- Two civilians from Bome village
Many others were injured, and among the dead and wounded were also individuals who had traveled from the northern part of Pauk Township to the south for work, though the exact casualty figures could not yet be confirmed.
Some of the injured are reportedly receiving treatment at nearby clinics. However, junta military convoys were reportedly moving toward Yenanmaw and Thar Gyi Taung to the east of Pauk, and were also spotted near Pyu Saw Hti villages, making access to medical care difficult and dangerous.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 7. Five Villages Torched by Junta Troops in Minhla Township

According to sources from Minhla, five villages in Minhla Township, located in Thayawady District, western Bago Region, were deliberately set on fire and destroyed by junta forces on June 23.
At around 5:00 a.m., junta troops entered Bo Ta Htaung village, under Gantgawbin village tract, and began setting it on fire.
Later, at approximately 7:00 a.m., they torched Sar Chaung village in Htauk Kyant village tract, and again at around 11:00 a.m., they burned down Sin Aing Chaung Pauk village, also in Htauk Kyant tract.
At 2:10 p.m., Gantgawbin village was again raided and torched.
By around 3:00 p.m., junta soldiers reportedly beat and arrested 10 villagers from Ngalat San village, under Kwetma tract, and continued torching the village.
