๐ฉ๐ฉ 1. Military Conducts Another Airstrike on Hsipaw, Damaging School Buildings
July 20
The PSLF/TNLA’s Information and Public Relations Department reported today, July 20, that Myanmar’s military conducted another aerial bombing on Hsipaw Town, located in northern Shan State and under the control of the PSLF/TNLA (Palaung State Liberation Front / Ta’ang National Liberation Army), resulting in damage to school buildings.
According to the report, the attack occurred at approximately 11:45 p.m. on July 19 (Martyrs’ Day), when a military jet dropped three 250-pound bombs.
The bombs exploded in Zatsu Ward and Shwe Kyaung Ward, causing damage to school buildings located within Basic Education Primary School No. 1.
Local news agencies reported that before bombing Zatsu Ward and Shwe Kyaung Ward, the military had first dropped bombs on a staff housing unit within Hsipaw Prison.
No civilian casualties were reported in this attack.
However, previous airstrikes by the military junta on Hsipaw—one on July 4 and another on July 14—were deliberately aimed at civilian areas, resulting in two civilian deaths, five injuries, and the destruction of 13 homes and 6 buildings, according to PSLF/TNLA records.
In response to the ongoing, deliberate attacks on civilians by the junta, the TNLA urges the public to remain vigilant, follow airstrike defense protocols, and take all necessary precautions to avoid harm.
