Ma Wut Yi Aung, who had served as a Central Executive Committee member and Joint Secretary of the Dagon University Student Union, actively participated in anti-junta resistance movements following the military coup in 2021, alongside the Dagon University Student Union. July 22
Radio NUG
The Ministry of Defense (MoD) of the National Unity Government has collaborated with the NUGPay Team to open MoD-verified NUGPay accounts for township-, district-, and regional-level People’s Defense Forces (Pa Ka Pha) in Sagaing Region. The initiative aims to allow the public to safely and securely send support to local defense groups.
Each official NUGPay Wallet belonging to the local Pa Ka Pha units includes the respective township, district, or regional code, and carries the “.mod” extension, indicating MoD verification.
To send support to Sagaing Region's Pa Ka Pha units, transfers can be made to accounts under the format sgg.mod*nugpay.app. These accounts have been issued exclusively for Pa Ka Pha units operating within Sagaing Region. The Ministry stated that accounts for other states and regions will be announced once available.
The MoD urges the public to send support only through the officially issued NUGPay wallets of the verified Pa Ka Pha units and warns against transferring funds to personal or unauthorized accounts.

๐๐ 3. Kyarpyaint Networks in Myanmar Use Starlink to Bypass Thai Authorities’ Internet Restrictions
July 22
Radio NUG
Kyarpyaint (่ฏ้ช / online scam) operators in Myanmar are reportedly using Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite internet to bypass internet shutdowns imposed by Thai authorities, according to Thai media sources.
Starlink devices are highly portable, making them easy to smuggle and use covertly. As a result, internet cable disruptions implemented by Thai authorities have failed to effectively block these operations. Thai officials are now reportedly working with partners to find ways to block or restrict access to Starlink services.
According to the International Justice Mission (IJM), there were 2,492 active Starlink connections as of April 2025 in eight major crime hubs in and around Myawaddy, Myanmar. This marks more than a twofold increase from April 2024, prior to the implementation of widespread internet restrictions by Thai authorities.
Satellite imagery from Google Earth in 2025 also showed Starlink-like installations clearly visible on the rooftops of buildings associated with crime syndicates—structures that were not present in previous years, the report noted.

๐๐ 4. Myanmar Military's Kamikaze Drone Crashes in Thailand
July 22
Radio NUG
A kamikaze suicide drone belonging to the Myanmar military reportedly crashed in a forested area near Ban Khun Mae Wae village, Tha Song Yang District, Thailand, during the morning of July 22, according to Thai news agencies.
The drone is believed to be a variant of the Russian-made Shahed drone and was suspected to have been deployed to strike the Headquarters of Brigade 7 of the Karen National Union (KNU). Thai sources speculate that the drone lost control and fell within Thai territory.
The crashed drone was reportedly equipped with a gas cylinder, matching the type of drones the Myanmar military has used in previous attacks on KNU bases. The Thai military is said to have recovered the drone and is conducting inspections.
The Transitional National Interim Special Office (TNISO), which monitors human rights violations and war crimes, stated,
“It is likely that the Myanmar military is directly purchasing and deploying Russian-manufactured Shahed drones. These drones are similar to the advanced kamikaze drones used on the battlefield in Ukraine and could pose a significant threat to resistance forces.”
