๐๐ 2. Escalating Clashes Along Thailand-Cambodia Border: 15 Dead on Thai Side; Two Myanmar Migrant Workers Mistaken for Cambodians Assaulted in Bangkok
July 25
Radio NUG
Fierce clashes continued for a second day along the Thailand–Cambodia border, with the Thai government announcing that 15 people on the Thai side have been killed and over 100,000 civilians displaced by the conflict.
Thailand has accused Cambodia of launching attacks targeting civilian areas within Thai territory. In response to the intensifying conflict, seven hospitals near the border have been forced to close, and over 300,000 people from four border provinces have been relocated to nearly 300 temporary shelters, according to Thailand's Ministry of Interior.
On the Cambodian side, the Cambodian authorities reported that one civilian was killed and five others injured due to Thai military shelling.
In a related development, nationalist groups in Bangkok’s Samut Prakan district have begun searching for and attacking Cambodian migrant workers. Some Myanmar migrant workers were mistakenly identified as Cambodians, resulting in physical assaults and interrogations. A video of such an incident has gone viral on social media. Fortunately, reports indicate that no serious injuries were sustained.
One Myanmar migrant worker posted on social media:
“We have to apply thanaka [traditional Burmese cosmetic paste] just so they know we’re Burmese.”
The statement underscores how the similar appearance between Myanmar and Cambodian people has led to misidentification and arbitrary targeting.
In response to the escalating crisis, ASEAN member states including Malaysia, Myanmar, China, and Singapore have urged Thailand and Cambodia to resolve the conflict through peaceful means. Meanwhile, the UN Security Council is reportedly preparing to hold an emergency meeting on the situation.
There are over 200,000 Myanmar migrant workers currently residing in Thai border provinces such as Sisaket, Chanthaburi, and Rayong, and they are advised to exercise extreme caution amid the current tensions.

๐๐ 4. Emergency Need for Food and Shelter for Displaced Families in Karenni Region
July 25
Radio NUG
The CTER-Karenni organization has reported that civilians displaced by airstrikes launched by the military junta in the Karenni region are continuing to flee in search of safety and are in urgent need of food and shelter assistance.
Over 100 households have already arrived in safer areas, and many more are expected to follow.
Due to the ongoing military offensives and frequent displacement, those who have fled are no longer able to stay in one place for extended periods as before and are instead taking refuge in makeshift jungle shelters.
In eastern Pekhon Township, thousands of civilians from multiple villages have fled due to military attacks, while many other civilians remain trapped inside their villages, unable to escape.
