๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. At least 8 junta soldiers killed in an attack on a military camp stationed in Taloke village

August 13

At least eight soldiers from the terrorist junta forces were killed in an attack on their camp stationed in Taloke village, Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region, according to resistance forces who took part in the battle.

The resistance launched the attack on August 9 at around 6:00 a.m., targeting the junta troops stationed in Taloke village with three assault columns.

The battle lasted until 3:00 p.m., spanning eight hours. Due to casualties on the junta’s side, the enemy responded with more than 30 rounds from 120 mm howitzers, three 60 mm mortars, 12 bombs, and aerial attacks from a Mi-35 helicopter.

As a result, four resistance fighters were injured, forcing them to withdraw.

Although the resistance could not completely capture the military camp because the junta received reinforcements from ground troops, artillery units, and forces from Myingyan, the operation still inflicted significant damage and casualties on the enemy.

The attack was jointly carried out by CDSOM – Captain Zingya Column and PDF – Taloke.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 3. “China’s self-interested dominance is a major obstacle to the Spring Revolution,” says TNLA Commander-in-Chief Tar Bhone Kyaw

August 13

China’s dominance, driven purely by its own self-interest, is one of the major obstacles to Myanmar’s Spring Revolution, said Tar Bhone Kyaw, Commander-in-Chief and General Secretary of the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), in a social media post.

On the evening of August 12, under the title “The biggest difficulties we currently face in the revolution,” he wrote about China’s self-interested dominance as a key challenge.

He stated:

“The inhumane and brutal acts of the Myanmar military dictatorship…
China’s dominance motivated solely by self-interest…
The long-standing oppression that has exhausted and weakened the people…
The absence of strong, united leadership for the revolution…
And other challenges as well.
In such a situation, we face setbacks and advances — but we must overcome these obstacles step by step.”

In northern Shan State, China has been pressuring the TNLA to avoid armed clashes, while at the same time, the junta is increasing military pressure in Mogok, Thabeikkyin, Hsipaw, and Kyaukme.

According to TNLA spokesperson Lway Yay Oo, speaking earlier this month, the TNLA is facing not only China’s political pressure but also direct military pressure from the junta.

Despite these pressures, the TNLA continues to coordinate with allied forces to firmly hold territories under its control, including Kyaukme, Hsipaw, and Mogok.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 4. Eight New Soldiers Defect Without Weapons to Pakokku District Battalion-2

August 13

According to a statement from Pakokku District Battalion-2 (P23702), eight newly trained soldiers stationed under the Natsankwin–Kwinchaungwa Strategic Command defected without weapons to join the resistance forces.

The statement, issued on the evening of August 12, said that the eight defectors were fresh graduates from basic military training who had been serving with the junta’s military. They came from two separate units:

  • Two soldiers from the People’s Military, 9th Batch, graduated under the KaLaYa-60 Kyaukkyi unit and were deployed in the Natsankwin–Kwinchaungwa Strategic Command area.
  • Six soldiers from the People’s Military, 5th Batch, graduated under KaMaYa-593, based in the coastal city of Kyaikto.

Ko Thun Min Naing, one of the defectors who had previously served under KaLaYa-60 Kyaukkyi, explained that in the junta army, “People’s Military” soldiers are discriminated against by regular troops, treated as expendable, and even used as human shields.

He recounted that regular junta soldiers would harass them when drunk or on drugs, sometimes pointing loaded guns at them and even attempting to kill them. Such abuses—combined with being treated “less than human”—led them to escape and seek refuge with PDF battalions.

Ko Thun Min Khine, aged 33, also told the battalion during a Q&A session that the constant mistreatment and use of People’s Military soldiers as human shields were key reasons for their defection.

Pakokku District Battalion-2 (P23702) stated that the defectors were accepted after proper verification procedures and are now being sheltered and cared for.

The battalion also announced that it welcomes junta soldiers who lay down their arms and join the people’s side, guaranteeing them full human rights, and that those who defect with weapons will also be awarded monetary rewards.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 5. Public Cautioned as Fighting May Resume in Thayekone Township

August 13

The Pakokku District People’s Defense Force (PaKaFa) has warned civilians in Thayekone Township, Bago Region, to remain cautious, as renewed clashes could erupt following recent junta troop movements.

On August 11, around 100 junta soldiers entered the area of Thitnitao village in Thayekone Township and used drones to drop two bombs targeting revolutionary forces.

Later that day, at around 6:00 p.m., the junta column advanced toward Yonepintat village. Revolutionary joint forces detonated triple-linked landmines, killing 13 junta soldiers and injuring many others.

At around 7:30 p.m., a junta truck-mounted heavy weapon arrived near Phaethitar Pagoda Hill, and the junta column spent the night in Yonepintat village.

On August 12, the junta troops, still stationed in Yonepintat, dropped bombs via drones on local civilians who had fled their homes. That same day, they raided Dahsuaykyauk village—where no fighting was occurring—and burned down homes.

On August 13, the junta column was reported to be setting fire to Tharyetkinekyi village, according to the Pakokku District PaKaFa.

Currently, the column is being counterattacked by Pakokku District PaKaFa combat units, Thayekone Township PaKaFa, and allied resistance forces.

The situation remains tense, with the junta conducting intensified military operations. Reports indicate that they have been confiscating vehicles and motorcycles, and abducting civilians to use as human shields.

The Pakokku District PaKaFa’s military commander urged residents to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary movement, and strictly follow safety guidelines for surviving during active conflict.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 7. People’s Liberation Organization/People’s Liberation Army (PIO/PIA) Launches Fundraising Campaign for Medicines and Medical Treatment for Comrades in Various Military Zones

August 13

It has been learned that the People’s Liberation Organization/People’s Liberation Army (PIO/PIA) has launched a fundraising campaign to purchase medicines and cover medical expenses for comrades and trainees serving in various military zones, due to shortages in medical supplies.

“Many of our comrades and trainees in the PIO/PIA’s various military zones are facing health problems—one of the main challenges during the rainy season. In our military clinics, the medics are doing their best to provide healthcare with the limited medicines available, but because the number of sick comrades is high, we are also having to transport serious patients to nearby hospitals and clinics for treatment.
As a result, our medical expenses have far exceeded the amount we had budgeted, creating additional financial needs for purchasing medicines,” the statement said.

To replenish medical supplies and cover treatment costs for comrades, the campaign is running from August 11 to August 20, with a set target of 10 million kyats to be raised within the 10-day period.

The statement urged:

“Under the oppression of the military junta, let us stand together to overcome both the harsh conditions of the rainy season and the pressures of illness that our comrades in the revolution are enduring.”
