August 21

According to local sources, indiscriminate airstrikes by the military on villages along the border of Kawlin and Hteechaik townships in Sagaing Region killed three people, including one revolutionary fighter, and injured eight civilians.

The attacks reportedly targeted Khansa Village and Sweya Village, located near the Thawra Company-owned Kyauk Puthu Mineral Mine, which has become one of the junta’s current bases in eastern Kawlin Township.

Kawlin Info reported that at around 6:00 a.m. on August 20, a military Y-12 aircraft dropped nearly 30 bombs over eastern Kawlin.

Kawlin Revolution (KR) also confirmed that the junta did not launch ground offensives but instead carried out unprovoked aerial bombardments using a Y-12 transport plane deployed from Tada-U Air Base.

As a result of the airstrikes, one revolutionary fighter and three civilians were killed, while eight others were injured, according to KR’s statement.

Among the three civilian casualties, two were internally displaced persons (IDPs), and the other was a local resident of Sweya Village. KR further clarified that all of the injured are receiving medical treatment and are not currently in life-threatening condition.

KR records also recalled a previous incident on July 14, when a junta fighter jet from Tada-U Air Base carried out an unprovoked airstrike on Doepin Village, located along the Shwebo–Myitkyina highway. That attack struck near a roadside restaurant where truck drivers had parked, leaving four civilians, including a child, injured, and damaging several cargo trucks.
