The Ministry of Women, Youth, and Children’s Affairs under the National Unity Government (NUG) has reported that one of its small-scale livelihood support initiatives for CDM (Civil Disobedience Movement) participants has seen success, with a CDM member now running a productive duck farming business that yields approximately 60 duck eggs per day.
“When I first joined the CDM, I faced a lot of difficulties. I chose to stand with the people because I did not want to work under the dictatorship. After joining the CDM, I lost my salary and encountered numerous hardships. However, with support from the ministry’s micro-enterprise initiative, my duck farming business has now stabilized. Not only can my family meet our daily living needs, but we are also starting to save extra income.
Once the revolution is successful, I plan to return to serve in the People’s Government. In the meantime, I will continue striving to succeed in my livelihood without losing morale,”

๐๐ 6. Six Border Trade Inspection Gates Open 24/7 in MNDAA-Controlled Theinni District, Facilitating Continuous China-Myanmar Trade
August 4
Radio NUG
According to a statement from the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA), six inspection gates have been opened along the China–Myanmar border trade route within the MNDAA-controlled Theinni District, allowing 24-hour movement of goods and trade flow.
Theinni District, located along the China (Yunnan)–Myanmar trade corridor, serves as a critical distribution hub and connects directly to two major border trade towns—Muse and Chinshwehaw.
The MNDAA stated that these checkpoints are intended to:
- Ensure smooth connectivity across the trade routes within the district,
- Inspect goods for safety and security, and
- Collect toll fees in accordance with laws and regulations to maintain transportation infrastructure.
Currently, thousands of vehicles per month are passing through Theinni District, transporting agricultural products such as rice and beans, as well as a small number of livestock. Meanwhile, goods from China—such as daily consumer items, construction materials, vegetables, and fruits—are being imported through the same route at a rate of 200–300 vehicle trips per month.
Due to Theinni’s geographical advantage of connecting both Muse and Chinshwehaw, the district is increasingly becoming a central hub for commodity transport. It is expected to grow further into a vital artery of the Yunnan–Myanmar economic corridor, contributing significant momentum to the development of border trade and economic zones, according to the statement.
